0-0 at the break. Hopefully Davies injury just a precaution.

Jake Burton also off injured, hopefully today's are just a precaution though Jolley looked in some pain Saturday

Even though only pre/season better that we win than lose. Hewelt keeping a clean sheet, wonder if he’s a genuine contender for the keeper spot. Does anyone know how strong a team Preston put out?

Think it was fairly strong Ben Woodburn and Robbie Brady who both signed yesterday started

PNE line-up: Woodman (Cornell, 45); Storey, Lindsay (Bauer, 45), Hughes (Cunningham, 63); Potts (Olosunde, 63), Whiteman (Seary, 71), Woodburn (O’Neill, 76), Johnson (Amaral, 63), Brady (Coulton, 45); O’Neill (Bennett, 45), Riis (Mawene, 64).

Sub not used: Pradic.

Sounds like Hewelt had a decent game saving a number of shots.

Defo should be a confidence booster Box.
Good for Hewlet. I did mention that he couldn't but any worse than young keepers down the pecking order at some "bigger" clubs - scenario mentioned elsewhere. I had wondered given the apparent lack of movement on the keeper front whether Joe and Micky thought he'd progressed enough to be considered a genuine no.2 who could push and stand in reliably for the no. 1 - assuming Joe will be no. 1 for immediate future. After all, as per young trialists he was on the books of a Prem team.

It is difficult to read too much into pre-season games, but it is positive that we have got results against two higher level teams. We seem in a much better place in terms of our preparation than we were this time last year. Hopefully Nolan's goal is the first of many.

It will be interesting to see whether Hewelt is in serious contention for a first team place.

The report on our site says Davies went off as a precaution which is good news, no news on others who went off and no news yet on Jolley

two games two good performances but 4 injuries sometimes you do wonder if running up the dunes and some hard prep work is what's needed first to build up stamina and fitness let us just hope they are niggles, we still need a few more players esp up front and on wings

They stopped doing the dunes runs several years ago

These highlights seem to show Preston totally dominant, which wasn't the impression I got from the Rovers twitter fed so guessing edited for the home audience.
Hewelt's shot-stopping looked decent and it was a good cross from Bristow that lead to the Nolan goal.
