Lucas Akins was on trial and played for us and still does and there have been several others down the years.

Apparently we cannot afford what they are looking for although the longer a player goes without getting a club the more likely his demands are to drop.

Personally i wouldnt want raven back as ive not been impressed by him, Hinds has played championship football and would be better if a deal could be agreed

Can't see what use we'd have for either if they are going to be expensive, we have decent cover in both positions.

Compared to previous seasons we're in good shape. You have a short memory.

There is supposedly some Brazilian lad playing at Chester tonight he is a striker Vinicius Dantas. We also supposedly have a couple of FRench lads playing.

I must admit I am also a little concerned by the lack of transfer activity with the players released and the loss of Jenno, Cressa and Warner we have only brought 2 players in. That leaves a very thin looking squad.

Oh well sod it am off to Jester for an evenings entertainment. You cant help but start to buzz when the season is finally here.=D>

Fraughan has signed for Stockport. Has the Jennings transfer been finalised? I have not seen anything?

DALE JENNINGS

Just seen on the Soccernet blog that the delay has been due to the medical. Dale apparently needs a hip operation. The blog says Bayern will still go ahead with the transfer which is generous if this proves to be the case. They must have a lot of faith in his talent when there are so many young footballers looking for a break.

Read somewhere that Lucas Akins, if that's who you mean, had accepted a new deal. Nothing on the official site, though he did play first half last night.

les is saying PJ IS PUTTING THE CASH AWAY FOR OPERATING LOSSES..
jeez do they not realise that by doing this there losses will be much higher in the long run..

we have lost 2 quality members of our squad in a struggling team anyway and no new investment even though the cash has come in from there sale ( or will do.)does not make any sense to me...

Negative actions by the board

When tranmere,s accountants state a loss on the accounts ,its us the British tax payer that gives them a refund for there loses lets not forget that !

Losses on acounts can just be paper losses and you can bet PJ has the experts in on that one...

SPEND THE F--KING MONEY FROM WHERE YOU GOT IT FROM PJ AND LP

this is simply not true

it's pretty basic stuff anyway, the business makes a loss without transfer revenue, so when we sell a player we use that money to help balance the books.

The problem is, as soon as we sell a player, everyone then assumes we have that money to spend. We are still operating at a loss. We still have very little money to strengthen the squad. We are looking at players without clubs.

We are looking at players without clubs.

les has actually made enquiries about players who are still under-contract (ryan lowe is rumoured) but apparently the figures quoted have been way too high.

given the way the transfer market now works at our level i don't know why we're going after contracted players anyway.

Missing the point

The money coming in from transfers will be taken out by Johnson and put neatly in his back pocket, no doubt tax free since he "lives" in a tax haven.

If we received 10 million it would still go in his pocket.

He runs up interest to ensure anything worth taking he takes.

Its called usuary and used to be outlawed but greedy graspers like him altered the rules and made it ok for those that have so much to have ever so much more and on top of that then frame the rules so that rich people dont pay taxes. And thats one of the main reasons the country is said to be on its arse.

Face facts, he is a thief in all but name. The situation has nothing to do with the players or Les P. TRFC have to struggle despite him - not thanks to him.

The sooner hes gone the better and I really not fussed as to how he goes as long as he goes.

unsubstantiated slander

you don't need to make things up to make PJ look bad, he will generally do that for himself

So based on your theory Johnson has taken more money out of the club than he has put in - in the 20 years he has been there?

Who are you expecting to take over? Abramovich?

Sad but true

Sonko; nothing unsubstantiated at all. Its a shame but our tax exile owner is nothing but a tea leaf.

And yes, over all the time hes been involved Johnson has taken out much much more than hes put in. Taken it in interest alone never mind payments as owner.

Hes a "businessman" [a wonderful title to hide behind] he makes money from his money. Tranmere are not a charity that he acts as a benefactor to. If we were we would be in a better position to run our own affairs for our [Tranmere's] own benefit - there are rules covering that. But the rules he plays by suit him and his greedy grasping ways.

You would be foolish to think any other way.

Before johnson, we had years and years of lower division mediocrity. 2-2 with Stoke and a 1-0 at Arsenal being all I remember as highlights. Oh and ronnie Moore scoring a few but still not getting to higher divisions. Almost out the league and then johnson. Investment and almost into top flight. Where was the support? Where was the money coming from? Overpaid players, underperforming players. Then downwards. And sky money going to the rich clubs. Moneybags teams get the best players. Teams like rushden blow ridiculous amounts but lack of support and greedy players stuff them. If there were a sugar daddy out there , Johnson would have sold by now. But no, he helps tranmere balance the books and tries to address fans concernsabout boring footbal with what turns out to be a duff appointment with Barnes. But he was making an attempt to move forward without busting the club in these times where greedy players bleed clubs dry. Look at man city, players want to stay and not play.... So johnson will always command respect from me because of the great 90s period which never ever seemed possible. Sad but True.
