Lost their discipline a bit here. Getting scrappy.

OConnor with a great chance on his left foot but it’s a very poor finish.

Ohh, Saunders should have done better there.

A draw probably a fair result. We were the better side in the first half and deservedly led. Second half they were the better side and I thought it was a penalty if a bit soft.

Colchester were arguably there for the taking first half but we weren’t good enough to score more than one today. Sums us up this season. Inconsistent and not enough up top. Could have lost it in the end as sears had two great chances but we had some great breakaways too and didn’t make the most of them.

MOM today Turnbull for me. 8 yellow cards a joke, wasn’t a dirty game at all.

Thought we could have had a penalty. No doubt Saunders was pushed yet he got booked! Even if we didn't win we kept going for it and never settled for the draw which was refreshing.
Enjoyed the game overall.

Agree with that Sparky. It's not going to be an overnight fix with the same players but it was a decent game to watch, quite open at times and it was good to see them passing it around more.

I think today is the day for Saunders.....

Two out of three ain't bad, as they say. If only we could have grabbed a late winner ...

Think the draw was a fair outcome, although felt our old nemesis Carl Boyeson really ought to have given us a penalty for the tug on Saunders as ADD suggests. He was throwing around cards like confetti in a true to form showing whenever he takes charge of a Rovers game.
It was a much better performance defensively that of late, with a great last ditch tackle from Turnbull, just in front of the goal being the pick of the rear-guard action. There was a lot of determination shown by the team today, which compensated for some of the missing quality. Have to recognise the talent Colchester had on their bench being able to bring the likes of Matt Jay and Freddie Sears on in the second half, so arguably we did well to hold on for a point. Although in the last 5 minutes + the nearly 8 added minutes the game was end to end with both teams having the chance to take all the points.

Hopefully now he has got his first goal Saunders will improve and his confidence be higher. We clearly still have issues upfront but I thought Mumbongo was better than he has been and if we can play like that more often maybe once he is fit Hemmings will start to score more often

Mumbongo did ok in parts but I’ll be disappointed if he’s still with us next season
