It is speculation and rumours.
If and in my experience as a team leader, disagreement doesn't mean a falling out.
You practically live and work in the same room, on the training ground, eat together, travel together, hotel together, work together.
They have to be on the same page, in meetings, etc. Put an unity into the players, gain the dressing room.
There can be no other voice in the dressing room, only the manager/team leader.
There should be no disrespect towards the manager or of his methods.
Not done in my playing days, shouldn't be done in pro football, you stick to the plan!
You do your job on and off the pitch!
As I understand it, a real conspiracy myth appeared a few weeks ago, about the positioning of the coaches during the match and non-speaking etc. It was debunked by the fact they have always taken these places. That rebuttal was supported by one person on another site, who dominates it.
That person has always posted vicious and in great quantity, anti-Mellon stuff from day one. He let slip or deliberately planted enough information to suggest he is an ex-Welsh league player of the same age as Dawes.
As soon as Mellon was sacked he promoted the idea Dawes should be appointed immediately. Dawes is such a non-personality, it is hard to see any fan having that sort of belief. It is hard to see that Dawes has no knowledge of all this, he is too random a person to have an anonymous fan of such intent. If Dawes did get the job and brought in a local centre forward as coach, the blowback would be immediate, I guess Palios is up to speed.
All the above is the work of a person locally I trust, I barely read that forum sinec finding this one myself, too much dross.

I don't think Dawes has any chance of getting the job unless MP gets really desperate. MP could have taken the easy option before but did not. I think we just need to get to the end of the season relatively unscathed and then go from there with a new, fresh approach.

Fascinating post DB. Is this former 39 year old League of Wales Dawes admirer a name we’d recognise?

Noticed that Dawes did the pre-match interview with folded arms, often perceived as defensive body language. Don’t recall that being his usual interview posture?

I’d agree with Ian that it’s very unlikely Dawes would get the job. While not expecting it, if he managed to string together a string of good results with this depleted and goal averse squad, Mark Palios would have something to think about.

It would be interesting if we went another another Parky/Dawes style run of winning games. Would Palios be tempted? I don’t think they are the answer but MP would have a decision to make. From memory under Dawes we still had CBT, Woolery, Morris playing. Our attacking options at present are miles off that so I’ll be amazed if we start winning games.

All this talk of tension we should forget about it’s history now. Dawes spoke of losing a close friend when Micky left so make of that what you will.

Will be interesting what the team is today. I’m thinking possibly a diamond but we shall see

Hemmings not even fit for bench duty, Hughes and Mumbongo start and we do have a full bench including Hoti and Sam Taylor.
Have some reservations about this if we are playing a diamond, as Merrie would be the base and his ability to pick a pass less effective if he’s sitting deep. Surprised at O’Connor’s continued absence from the starting xi.
While I wouldn’t put it quite as strongly as AM, have ticked the Colchester win box now.

Almost certainly a diamond, as if not Turner-Cooke or Chalmers would have started and there might have been space for O'Connor. With a diamond, at least our full-backs have more chance of attacking, although are Saunders and Mumbongo any more likely to make use of their crosses?

I don't think this team is any stronger than recent weeks. If we win it will be because Dawes has lifted their morale.

Lovely chip by Hawkes, Saunders beats the defenders, heads past the GK and its a simple touch to finish.

Typical isn’t it?!? A lovely dinked pass from hawkes and Saunders couldn’t miss. What must micky be thinking

We are having a go at them which hasn't always been the case, it's quite open and end to end so far

Good header by Merrie from a corner, keeper saves. Another corner, Saunders heads over. Getting good chances here, Colchester are terrible.

We’re playing well but as Ian says, Colchester are dire. Some good passing interplay between merrie hughes and hendry

Maybe I should have got the players to play the ball on the deck perhaps?
Much better so far.
