Sparky Margetts would be fresh for sure as only played 70 games since 2013/14 - albeit 30 goals is not a bad ratio.

Margetts gets a definite no from me. His career highlight is still those four goals against Vauxhall's.

Mullin apparently mostly played out wide rather than up front for Swindon last season, so might account for his low goal tally there. I would think Rowe is unlikely because he won't come cheap in terms of both transfer fee and wages.

Surprised there hasn't been a definitive announcement from McNulty; still mulling over other offers?

McNulty's brother is on Twitter and said he would be making a decision this week.

Dave Challinor has said some interesting things recently, pointing out that as Rowe is 29, is a team going to get 2/3 good years out of him?

If we can't replace Cook, we might simply have to get more goals from midfield next season. Playing Jennings centrally might help in that regard, as his glut of goals last season came when he started behind the strikers.

Agreed. A fit Tollit would probably aim for double figures and I suspect norburn did last season but Ollie ended up with half of that I think. In the end it didn’t matter but whoever our front 2 are I can’t seem them getting over 50 goals between them so the midfield need to chip in (and Sutton again!)

Dave Challinor isn't going to want to see Rowe move on though. A player of his age is at his prime and as long as Rowe stays fit, there is no reason he couldn't do a good job for someone.

It is interesting that Challinor has given that interview today though. It seems that there has either been interest or he is anticipating it.

If Macca goes who will be our 'leader' on the pitch?
Ok, he was captain but even if he wasn't I'm sure he would still have sorted out some situations the way he did, not to mention the opposition bench!
We will really miss his presence in that regard.

I thought the same CK. one thing I read about Ellis (and Sutton is possibly the same), is that they benefit from having someone alongside them who does the shouting and the organising.

He’ll be a massive loss but life goes on if he leaves

When Sutton first came he appeared to be doing a decent job of defensive organiser. It’s something Ellis doesn’t do well apparently.

Thanks RLC. I see he has been on loan at moneybags Manchester satellite town so maybe he will go back there..

Apparently Wharton is on a contract into next season and we've also got a young central defender called Welsh, previously playing at Flint Town. Suggested Solomon Davies has been released, not read about any of the other young players. It would be good to hear something definitive.

I try to keep track of players' contracts, but sometimes the club doesn't give much detail, particularly for youngsters. I am not aware of how long Green, Solomon Davies, Drysdale, Devine or Wharton's contracts are. Because none of them were mentioned as having been released, I assumed their deals ran until June 2019.

I think Green has another year on his contract and I believe Solomon Davies has been released. The others, I am not sure.

It wouldn't hurt keeping the website or twitter account updated though, considering all the other stuff that's put on there.

Green and Devine have been announced at the time they signed the deals. Gumbs apparently confirmed his in the post play-off celebrations.
