On the ale in Liverpool, it tastes even better after that half.
Made up for both scorers as both needed a goal for confidence, just need see game out and not give them a sniff

What a half! Not much in it really, with our midfield five being outmuscled by their four. Fortunately, our defence - all four of them - have been superb. We have conceded a lot of free kicks in sight of goal but Sutton’s shooting has been woeful.
Our first came when from a dropped ball, Josh Hawkes centred from the left and Rovers were first to the ball, drawing a foul and a well taken penalty by Hemmings.
The second was the last kick of an extended half. Finally, our midfield put together a couple of forward passes, then Hemmings found Lewis with just the goalie to beat.
I’m sure we’ve played a better half and been a goal down, but I’m taking this and hoping we can get a third to kill off the game. Sutton are poor but I would not want to see what would happen if they scored.

Interesting hearing the eye witness account of the game BBTC. The commentary suggests that Sutton hace had a few opportunities but not made the most of them. Wouldn’t want them to get a goal back early or Rovers get anyone sent off. Hope we can coast it, but being TRFC…

Bit surprised about that sub. Lewis seems to have been playing well today.

Sounded comfortable but maybe not as good an attacking performance as Salford and second half at Walsall. Happy with taking all the points

Second halves at Walsall and v barrow last week we dominated and created lots of chances. We won’t be like that every week especially away from home but who cares if we’ve won (again), and weren’t too pretty at times. At the end of the season it’s wins and points that matter, not how many passes you make.
A good team mixes up different styles and can adapt and that’s what we’re doing

I think generally the quality of football we’ve tried to play has been better this season, not all long-ball stuff. It may be that we mirrored Sutton a bit in this game, who do play fairly direct, but if so, that would seem to be an exception to our approach in recent games.

The important factors now are that we are solid at the back, not conceded in the last few games and down the other end, we are scoring goals. I think we had 3 shots on target, scored 2 goals. We are moving in the right direction.

You wernt at the game yet you choose to criticise an away win 2 0 at a team who had only lost 1 game at home before today, says it all really.

I forgot to add when talking about positives, we are now on 19 points, 2 points behind Bradford in 6th.

Joint top of the form table based on the last five games with Stevenage who are top.
