I doubt Liverpool can curtail the loan. I am sure contractually he will be here for the full season.
If Glatzel becomes unhappy at Rovers and Liverpool request his recall, I doubt the club would resist. However, I am sure Micky is too good a man-manager and diplomat to let relations with his player and between the two clubs deteriorate. If the loan is not working - for whatever reason, I would expect the clubs to agree to a recall.I doubt Liverpool can curtail the loan. I am sure contractually he will be here for the full season.
I just doubt legally and contractually they would be able to recall him, even if the player was unhappy. If Glatzel becomes unhappy at Rovers and Liverpool request his recall, I doubt the club would resist. When have legality and contracts mattered in football? Not for a long time. If a player wants away, he usually gets his way. Sometimes we lose (Ryan Lowe's move from us back to Bury), sometimes we win (James Vaughan's move from Bradford last season), but it happens.I just doubt legally and contractually they would be able to recall him, even if the player was unhappy.
I can't see Glatzel kicking up that kind of fuss in his first loan spell, unless he is not featuring in the team at all. Even then, it is unlikely. When have legality and contracts mattered in football? Not for a long time. If a player wants away, he usually gets his way. Let's hope so. I have great hopes for him - this season and in the future.I can't see Glatzel kicking up that kind of fuss in his first loan spell, unless he is not featuring in the team at all. Even then, it is unlikely.
He is a youngster learning the game and trying to show a good attitude to his parent club.
I think it's going to be interesting how we line up especially as I would think spearing Watson and Merrie are all likely startersIf we sign McNulty I wonder whether Micky might play a diamond with Glatzel and McNulty in a front two. A straight 442 does not really seem to suit this squad.
Yes, on that basis I think a 4231 is more likely, as Morris and MacManaman will also surely start.I think it's going to be interesting how we line up especially as I would think spearing Watson and Merrie are all likely starters
If we signed Steve McNulty, that would be something to think about.Still early days and Micky was happy to play 2 up top when we had cookie and Nors so let’s see what happens. Obviously if McNulty comes in (Marc not Steve), then that’s something else to think about
That would be great news. As a current Reading player, he should have done the full pre-season training with them, so should be match fit.Apparently McNulty to be announced tomorrow
I think his goalscoring record has generally been one in two, or one in three, when he has been used as a striker at this level, or something similar. He could not hack it in the Championship, but he was prolific at Livingstone and Hibernian in the SPL, and again at Coventry. He would be a tremendous signing and I think he is as good as any striker at our level. That would be great news. He has a patchy goal-scoring record, but Micky obviously knows and rates him, so should be able to get the best out of him. I could imagine him upfront with Glatzel as the new Cookie and Nors.
