There's an obsession from fans of a lot of clubs about "retained list".
At the end of each season players are either in or out of contract.
This day and age you can't refer to players being "released" because they're free anyway if their contract has expired.
As RLC says, we used to be told which players had been offered new contracts which, by elimination, told us who they didn't want.
It has to be right that we are no longer told who's been offered what....if anything. Fair to the player and club.

Yet every other club gives details of who is being released and who they are offering contracts too and of course you can refer to players as bring released

It would be interesting but not vital to know who the club has offered new terms to and who it hasn’t. Clearly, we know Clarke, Morris etc. were. We also heard Lewis was, but went elsewhere. I think Lloyd wasn’t offered a new deal as he said goodbye without having a new club to go to. I still don’t know if Manny was offered anything and the same applies to Woolery and CBT. So, some announcements, some detective work and some pure guesses. ;)

I am surprised he has been offered a deal, but pleased in the sense that Mellon obviously believes he can get more out of him than we saw in the closing months of last season.

Probably the most naturally talented player in the squad and hopefully he can get back to his best.

Still waiting to hear about Ridehalgh, Woolley, Khan, CBT and Ray. No word from the club or any of the players. I would expect one or two to be in discussion about a new deal - probably just a year. All are still under contract until the end of the month.

Apparently we are looking at a Maidenhead United player. Orsi, 25, netted 19 league goals in the season just gone since his move from National League South side Hampton & Richmond Borough, including a seven-minute hat-trick in a 6-0 thrashing of Wealdstone.

Could he be the new Paul Mullin? (New version not old one. ;) )

That's a bit of a surprise. Thought we could do better than that. Was awful second half of the season.

I felt Feeney was pretty average in the second half of last season. Maybe Micky can get more out of him not play him every game and avoid the mistakes of Hill and Dawes by sharing set-piece taking throughout the squad. So far the signings have been fairly humdrum and have to hope there is something more inspiring in the pipeline.

I think the signings to date are all good players at this level, and the assessment is being coloured by just how badly a number of them underperformed towards the end of last season under Hill. To be honest, I am not sure any signings in League Two will be genuinely inspiring.

I’m hoping we get some more energy and youth in there if we can. I think we had the oldest squad in the league last season and gave the fewest minutes to young players. Nothing major needed as we still finished in the play offs don’t forget.

A 20 goal a season striker is a priority. Look how much we missed Vaughan last season and now we need a permanent replacement
