That was in the Championship. He is a good player who would score a decent number of goals in League One, and give us something different up front.
In fairness, RLC, some of those games were in League One. In fact, he scored just 3 goals in 29 third tier appearances with Wigan and Portsmouth since leaving Bury. He is not on form, but maybe Micky thinks he can help him recover his mojo.

I think a lot of the games at Wigan were substitute appearances as part of a squad that won the league. He has not always been prolific, but I maintain that he he is a decent player and we are unlikely to attract better.

I am not sure how you can say this. Tollitt has only ever put in decent performances at National League level, and by all accounts he was hardly outstanding at Wrexham last season. Morris has had a number of years at League One level and was a solid performer last season, and Smith was also decent in League Two.

Tollitt is completely unproven in the Football League and I don't think he has more natural talent than the other players mentioned. His reputation is based on a good couple of months two years ago, against poor opposition.
I appreciate that his performances were at lower level but before his injuries he was easy good enough for L1/2 in my book and still being young can develop further. I hope you are right in one sense as we let him go but Blackpool must think he can prosper again. We will have opportunities to see at first hand this coming season assuming he nails down a starting place?

I agree RLC he would be a good addition - my worry is that he will not be able to offer enough. If £2m is our budget this year as stated above in this thread then we will be in the bottom half of spending in the division for sure as we get £400k extra from the League and I must assume that we will get extra gate receipts so in reality we are not materially upping the spending as compared to last year.

Carlisle's Hallam Hope is the latest player to add to the rumour mill.

Vaughan is training with Bradford today, so I think we can forget about that one. However, we are now being linked with Callum Lang, who would be an excellent signing.

He would be decent Ian. A decent centre half who rejected a new contract from Crewe. I’m sure he captained them last season and if Nelson doesn’t sign then we need another centre half as Ellis and gumbs out for a while

Hallam Hope I’m less excited about. Works very hard but doesn’t score many

I think George Ray would be an excellent signing, and so would Callum Lang. Would prefer Lang over Vaughan to be honest.

I'd prefer Callum Lang over the other 2 mentioned. He's only 20 so plenty to prove and would be hungry and he's averaged 1 in 3 at Morecambe and Oldham. Might be worth a punt if they can get him on a free.

Ray signs on a 2 year deal. What this means about Nelson remains to be seen.
A good signing though as has plenty of league one experience and always good to have captains in the squad

Quite happy about that. Manny and George commanding at the back and we needed a leader type figure now that McNulty has gone.

If Nelson was coming to us I am pretty sure he would have signed by now. This sounds like a positive signing I agree.

Don’t really know enough about Ray, though his cv seems decent and he’s relatively young. Would have thought Nelson would have signed by now if he were going to, though it’s still possible and MM does like the option of playing 3 at the back.

Apparently us, Bradford and Salford showing an interest in Mansfield's Danny Rose. At least we're starting to get a few rumours!

Says a lot if Bradford can outbid us/ are more attractive for players but that said Callum Lang I agree would be a great signing as he is young and quick - scored both against us last season at Oldham as well!

Rumours that Danny Mayor from Bury is signing this week. He was outstanding in the 1-1 draw at Prenton Park a great signing if true.

Good god if we can sign mayor then I’d be over the moon. Apart from Nors he was the best player in the league last season

A Bury fan who is a mate of mine who is normally very reliable said that to me 2 weeks ago but TBH I didn't think we could be that lucky....
