Lose this one and it's 4/5 defeats, with the Stockport win appearing as something of an anomaly. After Swindon, we've got a home game against Sutton fighting for their lives and with the management change making them hard to beat, then a sequence of matches against opponents either in the top 7 or play-off contenders. If we don't pick up something from the next two games, there's the danger we drop right down the table. with what comes after.
It was disconcerting how Nigel came across after the Forest Green game, as it sounded like Rovers were unfortunate to be behind at the break, then felt like very little threat on their goal second half. Yet NA frustrated, whereas disappointment would be the expected reaction to that showing. He needs to look at different ways of approaching deep-sitting teams as the current method isn't working.
Swindon fans don't seem that inspired by Mad Gav, although the structure and work-rate of the side have improved since he replaced Flynn. A lot of issues off the field with club ownership, transfer embargos etc. They do have some obvious goal threats in Austin, the erratic but occasionally brilliant McKirdy and ex-Rover Paul Glatzel, so to get something expect we'll need to find the back of the net at least once.
If Morris is injured, Hawkes the obvious replacement, but wonder if he might be tempted to try James Norris there, given he has featured wide-left for Liverpool. Or Norris left-back and Connor Wood who has played on the wing wide-left. If Brad Walker isn't fit to start again, then time to consider other options that McAlear. Luke Norris clearly well off match fitness, so would hope to see Dennis on the bench as a striking option. Hopefully O'Connor fit to start and picked at right-back, if not then a right-sided player rather than James Norris.
