    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

League Two Notts County (5) v Rovers (0)

maybe the manner of the defeat will wake people up to the danger of relegation, if we had lost by a single goal we would have carried on sleepwalking
I totally agree, the gap is narrowing all the time, the biggest issue is I can't see Crosby being able to stop the rot, he looks and sounds like a beaten man

That second half was as bad a performance as I have seen from a Tranmere side. Defensively we were shambolic.

In mid January we had a fifteen point gap to the bottom two. The gap is now nine points.

We are in grave danger of relegation and change is needed.

Luckily for Tranmere they had a good start to the season thats what will save them , and i think the clubs at the bottom are not strong enough to bridge the 9 points , and there quite a lot of teams so Tranmere will survive JUST

It's quite clear now he does not have an answer.

11 defeats in 15 games. GF: 15 GA: 30

I've seen better football on a Saturday morning kids game. The defending was shambolic.

Crosby has lost the plot, just like he did at Vale. All this tinkering clearly shows he has no clue how to stop the slide and is making us worse by the week. To say his team were coming here to win is a plain lie. He had no intention of winning this game and the guy is deluded to think he can contain a team like County for 90 mins. We got what we deserved, a right old thumping. The tactics were negative, the players awful, we cannot put three passes together and the problem with the defence continues. Something else AC hasn't been able to get a grip off.

The only contribution we made to that game was an awful shot from Whitaker that went miles over and a weak free kick effort straight into the keeper. That was it.

Pathetic, the lot of them.
I’m guessing things turned a bit sour in the away section?

The moment that line up was announced, this result was on the cards. Crosby’s delusion is up there with Adkins. Pathetic. He gets an easy ride as a result of last season/seeming like a decent bloke - he’s Dawes without the baseball cap.

Despite this, it’s Palios where the ire needs to be directed, he chose to sack Mellon, replace him with Dawes and we’ve been on a death spiral ever since. Depressing times!

Dark days. maybe someone else would give us a new Manager bounce to keep us in the division.
I doubt Palios would be keen to fund anyone else. It would be Parky or Joe Murphy. Maybe Alan Morgan if we can prise him away from Bootle…
Next games are Crewe away where we invariably lose, Newport away which will be pivotal then Micky Mellon’s Oldham at home. Can see Palios making a change by then if we don’t pick up something in the next couple of games.

to be fair to MP there was alot of pressure from the fans to move Mickey on , the football wasnt great to watch , fans usually think that changing the manager will improve things

He should get a further loan from his mate to change the manager

Yep tinkering is not the answer. Have a method you believe you've got or can get the players who can play to your needs. If it doesn't come off, and it must have done to some extent to get the points we already have, just Drill, Drill, Drill the player until it's engrained. That way you'd realise more improvement on anything you've already achieved.
Who do we all want as a replacement.....I'm an ideal, but realistic world?

This is a good but really difficult question to answer, Higgy. With the takeover uncertainty it would probably be a short-term appointment or one with a risk of being terminated by the hypothetical new owners. I am sure there are out of work managers out there who could turn things around, I don’t think our squad is terrible though lacking leaders. I can’t think of an obvious name though.

One query for those watching today’s woes; Lewis Warrington. He seems to have been taken off fairly early on in both of the last couple of games, even though you’d expect him to have more youthful energy than Finley. Is it because he’s picked up bookings, playing poorly or just another bizarre choice from Crosby? He seemed to do ok in the couple of games after rejoining

I thought the Warrington substitution was stupid. He left five at the back and took off our most creative midfielder when we were chasing the game.

Finley's performance was a disgrace. Clearly was not arsed, giving the ball away in our own box for their third goal, and the fact a character like him is captain says a great deal about the state of the club.

I thought the decision to replace Plant with Norman was also stupid.

Warrington, Obiero, Plant and the other youngsters have no chance with the lack of support they are receiving. They clearly have talent, but have regressed after promising starts.

I’m guessing it was because he was on a yellow but Crosby just doesn’t know what he’s doing. As RLC says giving Finley the captaincy was one of his many poor decisions
