    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

League Two Notts County (5) v Rovers (0)

Not able to watch as away skiing this week but whilst the size of the defeat was unexpected the result was not. Sounds horrendous from the reports...
Crosby selection simply confirms he is the ultimate Adkins sidekick but really that team selection is simply blindfoldedly throwing at the dart board!
Looking at the table we are effectively 19th as we speak as Cheltenham and Shrewsbury will 100% finish ahead of us. The Barrow loss today is a a godemd frankly. Newport will go down. Harrogate omce again won't so realistically we are looking at Bristol R, Barrow and Crawley not catching us which is arguably still unlikely but the way we are imploding who can say for sure...
Crosby should be gone tonight - Parky would do no worse (yes controversial I know) and Murphy 100% would do better...
An utter disgrace especially after the players we brought in.

Crosby simply can't be in the dugout for the Crewe game after that showing today. His position is untenable.

It is vital that we are competitive at Newport a week on Tuesday, and we have to get a result in that game. That won't happen under Crosby.

If Parky is appointed then I will burn my season ticket. Extremely lucky to still be earning a wage from our club.

If anybody is still under any illusions of how grave the situation is, we are bottom of the form table for the last six games and last ten games, for both home and away fixtures.

Couldn't agree more.
Gonna go to bed thinking of who we go for on a temporary basis.
John Rooney always sounds switched on and Ged at Accy fits the club connection identikit. But I guess they'd want a permanent appointment.

The Accrington management duo would be perfect but it won't happen, till the end of the season someone like Pete Wild could do the job.

Sorry bigmart, I meant John Rooney at Macclesfield. As you say though any one considered as a worthy upgrade wouldn't happen until the end of the season

Absolutely. You wonder how many points we’re going to pick up to the end of the season. I can’t imagine it will be many and there is only one team below us that has picked up less points then us over the last 5/6 games.

With that truly pathetic performance yesterday, I can’t say I’m confident.

Notts fan in peace. Despite our league position we have eeked through a lot of games with sheer willpower, energy and relying on the odd moment of quality (very rarely win by more than the odd goal).

The fact we got 5 albeit 1 being a double ricochet, 1 a brainless penalty, 1 deflected shot and 2 tap-ins speaks volumes about how spineless the performance was from your team. 5 hours of travelling deserved better. Hope you can turn it around.

There have been some over reactions here, you can't honestly expect players to make public statements on what they actually believe. Team captain has to tow the party line.
Secondly claiming Parky is no good based on the square root of nothing is rather silly. He has never been even in temporary charge for a single game so we just don't know. Murphy is supposedly a keeper coach when we only have one a very experienced and well past personal coaching stage. As we have no developing players at all and a handful of young professional mainly loaned in, I doubt much one to one stuff is even carried out.
Basically boils down to team selection and tactics, Parky seems to be responsible for drawing charts and Murph for handing the paperwork in. On the basis that I reckon none of the 700 there yesterday would have selected that team, I'd be very surprised if anyone outside Crosby would have done either.
i'd be perfectly happy if whoever was responsible just played a 532 or 442 with Patrick out wide on the left making the marginal difference in those two schemes.
Strikes me there are some strong truisms. Smith at the very back in central has been consistently good any tinkering of that has weakened us. The right back bombing on has caused opponents problems, Plant was just defused yesterday. Central midfield as a pair has been disastrous and leads our fans to believe Smallwood was useless but it appears he has solved issues where he is now. We signed Ironside because we were toothless without such a player, he like others has been dropped and reinstated countless times. Patrick is hot or cold and arguably needs dragging when cold as he never warms up, but he has been cold every time he has played anywhere but wide left. I doubt Omari absorbs any instructions whatsoever, he less so than Apter has one trick, but it is a trick that players at this level find hard to deal with. How can anyone be confused as how to play this 31 year old?
Substitutions look like some form of blind party game. Next Obiero will be dropped because like Whits we can't even give them a yard of an opening for them to explore.
Whits playing central bought a sole foul but the defender just needed to stop him turning. Watched the rugby late last night and it was just as error strewn but Crosby would have replaced the hooker with a scrum half, Whits as centre forward is the work of a mad man. Tuesday, take Plant and Ironside away and we had nothing, he did both effectively for yesterday. We have made small advances even in defeats but we are just as likely to cancel them out by tinkering

I don't think it was as spineless as set up to fail and I suspect some players knew it. You won't have noticed but Finley, a fading player who is still decent in thi s league, turned around in midfield as the ball by-passed to note our needlessly reshuffled back three were stood thirty yards deeper than him for your guys to explore.
Whitaker, who you passed on, is our most promising talent (probably the only one) but not unsurprisingly in his new role as target man.

Dark days. maybe someone else would give us a new Manager bounce to keep us in the division.
trouble is drwhoman if and it,s a big if palios changed the manager he would likely be told you have to keep parky and the rest of them to work with.

Here's a reminder of just how terrible we were yesterday. Enjoy!
