After about 20 passes unchallenged, cross comes in, Evans gets above O'Connor for the headed finish.

A long passing move from the hosts and we’re behind to the leagues most out of form side. Surprise surprise

Another for Apter. Big up and over from Saunders, Apter slots it nicely into the corner.

Apter again what a finish!!

No chance we’ll have him next season 2-1

Well after the ropey start, Rovers have been good value for the 2-1 lead at HT. Obviously Apter showing his qualities with two well taken goals but Rovers are playing well and there's been some nice passing too. Merrie is providing some protection to the defence, Hendry and Jennings getting involved in midfield and I think L. Norris is having a really good game showing some nice touches and causing their defence problems. Saunders has been a bit anonymous but did provide for Apters second so can't be too tough on him.

A decent showing so far against a poor Newport side.

We score next and it’s game over.

Apter player of the year surely now.

Bogle skins hockenhull and pulls it back only for LOC with a great goal scoring block

Pike for James Norris and Sam Taylor for Saunders.

So Hawkes now has two strikers in Saunders and Taylor both ahead of him in the pecking order for playing on the left
