I wouldn't be too disheartened after this one. The game had a lot. Goals, bookings, penalties, injuries, red cards..

These games certainly do seem more eventful. I think we would have had a much better result here, but with Goody going off and Rovers having to reshuffle, I think it knocked them a bit.

Unlucky really and shame it had to happen against County, I think we could have got a really good result here. Nice to see midfielders chipping in with some goals.

Looking forward to the Sheff Utd game on Saturday. Let's hope Fon-Williams and Goody are OK.

county game

I did not attend the game or listen to it but it does sound as if the ref lost the plot. Seven minutes of extra time and two sending offs for the away team seems a bit strange to me. Still as Ian says - lets not be too downhearted. It just goes to show how much they rely on Goodison at the back - probably unhealthily so.

Blimey, can someone confirm who actually got red carded: according to Sky it was McChrystal and Buchanan, the BBC say it was Raven and Buchanan and the TRFC website say it was Raven and McGurk. Maybe the idiot of a ref sent them all off!

Sounds to me like we were pretty unlucky. Take heart boys, we'll do OK this season.

Let's wait for an eye-witness report from the SWA before rushing to judgement. It sounds like once again we lost our composure in the last ten minutes, but we did at least battle back to get an equaliser. I don't know if or how we were cheated. I suspect there was no quarter given on either side. Goodi's departure so early was a blow, but the turning point might have been at 1-1 when McGurk hit the post shortly before they took the lead.

Interesting thread title from a team who got 6 yellow cards and 2 reds.

Ref completely ruined the game for both teams, why we get such **** at this level is beyond me, glad we got another 3 points.

Sounded like a really good game on the radio, although Doyle was doing my head in as usual. If we continue to play like this for the rest of the season we'll have no probs. Sounds like Labadie sent a message to Les, came on, got a goal, very nearly got another and apparently played well - even broke up a scuffle! I guess there's a first time for everything. In truth he probably should be in our starting line-up.

First red was definitely Raven. Second was McGurk according to both the radio coverage and the OS.

Take it you didn't go to Prenton Park last year then? Scum team, scum manager. Same old County today - bookings for arguing with the ref, bookings for time wasting. I swear to God I would stop going to watch Tranmere if they played the way your bunch do.

Congrats on the 3 points, you might need them.

Maybe I am too harsh

Sonko, youre spot on here with every comment on County,

How good would life be if we could get The Thief Johnson to join them, I'm smiling just at the thought of it.

Sour grapes anyone?

I assume you missed your visit to Meadow Lane last season then when you cheated your way through 90 minutes?
What goes around comes around, at least have the decency to accept when you are beaten by the better team.

So we got booked for complaining to the ref about your shocking team and your lot got booked for being cheating, failing to be able to tackle correctly and stopping and goal bound shot with a hand and you are calling us cheats? Bless!

Oh and reports of your fans being caught paying for programmes with fake £20 notes, anyone surprised? Thought not.

They go 3-2 up in the seventh minute of injury time against NINE men and still manage to get their keeper booked for time wasting after that. Tells you all you need to know about them. Pump off County.

He was actually booked before we scored our winner but lets not let facts get in the way of sore losers otherwise we might have to mention that we had more possesion, more shots on target, more shots off target, more corners, committed less fouls, recieved less cards and had no one sent off, but as you say, you were the better team and we we're the ones who cheated....

Fake £20 notes are a common occurance these days you've probably used one without realising, it also isn't too bad considering you come from a city where the locals took part in some copycat looting last week...

As for your team, well I've never seen a team cheat so much as yours does. Endless complaining to the ref, diving, timewasting - your team, club and manager are a disgrace to football.

The Tranmere match at County last season may have been a one off in terms of timewasting from our side - we do not play like that on a regular basis, if at all. I would suggest the reason for those tactics been employed against you is a means of countering your cheating. The stats your reel out as if your some kind of pro zone specialist simply reflect the fact your so called manager and team successfully conned the ref - not that you are a superior side - which you're clearly not.

When your so called team came to Prenton Park last season, they dived, cheated and play acted their way through 90 minutes. When your players went down injured you had players warming up to come on, before the player was "injured". From listening to your head pillock Martin Allen on the BBC site it seems one of your players was actually injured and went to hospital last night - whilst I wish him the best of recovery, it makes a change for one of your players to acutally be injured not play acting, which is nice.

You claim our team cannot tackle?! - We have the best centre back in the division - you're going to get a bit out of your shallow depth if you go there dear.

It's a shame that the oldest football league club seems devoid of any traditional footballing values and instead chooses to employ negative, cheating, dishonest tactics as a means of covering up their players inability to play football. Once the referees realise what your side is doing, you will be back down at your natural level in league 2 - where I hope your existence comes to a very swift end, or perhaps it should be a long and protracted end to prolong your suffering?

Enjoy league 2 next season. Bless.

A rather long windeed way of saying "we lost to the better team but we are bitter and sore losers and refuse to admit it so will use every excuse under the sun"

If your team can tackle effectively then how do you justify 19 fouls, 6 yellow cards and 2 red cards? And don't blame the ref because he was as bad for both of us.

Devoid of tradition and using dishonest tactics as a means of covering up their players inability to play football?
Scraping the barrel there a bit aren't you?

We played Carlisle off the park and won 3-0, we pushed Nottingham Forest from the Championship to penaltys, were beaten by a good Charlton team and took 3 points off your lot despite your rough house tactics, scoring 10 goals in the process while all you have to shout about is two 1-0 victorys and have ceonceded 6 goals in the other 2 games which you both lost.

And you claim referees will realise what we are doing and start to punish us for it, on the basis of last night i think the referees are already aware of how you play and punished you accordingly.

People in glass houses shouldnt throw stones...

You don't seem to understand what you claim to see is not how we play. We only seem to play anything close to what your claiming when we play against you. 19 fouls? Id' say 18 dives/play acting/berating ref plus one case of a player being injured. It's also not the first time this season your cheating style has been pointed out by the opposition.

I see you still fail to mention the game last season at Prenton Park when I was embarrassed for your players. Are you still embarrassed by those scenes? It's understandable..

Embarrassed for our players doing everything they could to secure a win to keep our team in this division?
Very much the opposite.

If you think your team would do any differently given the same situation then you are very much mistaken.

How you can justify your cheating tactics against us last season at Meadow Lane and this season without being involved in a relegation battle should be interesting...

All fouls and bookings are not equal imo.

A mistimed tackle, fair enough. We may be guilty of a lot of those, we tend to press quite hard off the ball and we don't keep it very well. Handball is pushing it, don't really like what McGurk did, in his defence it's a split-second decision...but diving, arguing with the ref, numerous players pretending to be injured for minutes on end...as a genuine planned tactic...we don't see any of this at Tranmere - and thank God. It is, however, something County (and Martin Allen teams generally) are experts at.

Of course you had more shots and possession last night, you were the home side ffs. You may well have been the better team on the night, afaik absolutely nobody is claiming that Tranmere were the better side (so chill out). But if you are so ****ing good, then try to win a few games without cheating.

(Then see if you can finish above us this year)

Scraping past an "awful" team with a 97th minute goal at home after conceding twice doesn't bode well for the rest of your season, does it fella?
