    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

Rovers old boys

Sam Taylor played for Alty last night in a pre-season friendly that amusingly was abandoned at half time after a "fracas" between the teams. Maybe they all wanted to watch the England game?!
Interestingly they are apparently about to announce a BCD pre-season friendly against a EFL side. Given how Clarke has said he ideally would have wanted more pre-season games wondered if it might be us trying to arrange another game before Rochdale?

Jonny Margetts has decided to retire after suffering a reaction following summer knee surgery. He’s only 32 and was with Matlock Town.

He said: "After years of battling knee pain and swelling with injections and painkillers, the latest surgery has been a step too far and a battle I can't win.
"It's hard to accept and one that'll take some time to process, but the level of swelling and pain I'm in daily means continuing just simply isn't an option."

Bit surprised, as thought he would find another FL club and geographically it’s not ideal for him. Maybe the pay is better.
Yes he’s probably on decent money for that level but some EFL teams might look at his nomadic career and be put off by it
