Ok lets get the build-up to the big one started right now.

Ive been sniffing about some dodgy dogging Forest forums and it seems to me that there is a whiff of derision in the ranks of the supporters.

A lot of their fans think that the results their last two home games have produced is indicative of there performances over the first few weeks of the season.

I for one am really excited by the prospect of of a decent turnout at PP this saturday and hopefully the lads will be up for the match, we can tonk them 4-0 and go top of the league.

Im really confident that they have been lucky as to say that so far they have only played s**t teams. Look who they have beaten so far............

Bradford, Blackpool, Northampton, Brighton, Chesterfield, Yeovil

Whilst losing at home to Oldham, drawing at home to Carlisle and only managing a draw away to Huddersfield.

Trust me, this league table is a false one, they havent played anyone decent so far (i mean lets be honest, its a god awful league for the second year running and the only class team in it is the mighty whites)

If we go out there on Saturday with the belief that we are the best team in the division. And i'm talking about the fans aswell as the players. We raise the tempo and create a cracking atmosphere then Im sure we will see the lads play some great football from the off!!!!!

Come on the Rovers :)

You know what AJSM, you could be onto something here, and if their fans are of the opinion and are starting to see it that way, then yes, we could very well be the best side in this league, destined for something much better.

But let's leave that until after the game. They'll be coming off 2 fairly disappointing results and will be in a position to fight for a win.

We will be at home, and hopefully the attendance will be up again (sadly I will be here in Dublin again....sniff sniff) and well up for it, after having such a good away result today.

I really can't wait for this game, and hope it's not a disappointment. I sensed today a bit of competition for places in the starting lineup and I'm dying to see what team Ronnie picks.

We have recovered from our defeat, they haven't. If we can beat them down on Saturday and make them relinquish their top spot I think they will slide. It is going to be hard and a lot of effort, but I will try to make this one! If I do, will there be any people in the Clipper before hand?

we need to get them while theyre low and this may be one of the best chances we will have of beating them. hopefully we'll have our squad back to full fitness and then we'll see who should be top of the league. however one thing to think about come saturday is that if we win we go top and if we godforbid lose or draw we stay second

I was very pleased when I saw yesterday we had a 4 point buffer on third. I thought it may only be 2 points. Hopefully we can win and go top although Forest will be going all out to win and come back from the bad week they have just had.

From reading comments on BBC it appears that forrest had to work very hard to earen thwir point on Saturday. we haven't played carlisle yet, but I dont see them as a team who will finish in the top 4 or 5 so if Forrest want to mount a decent promotion campaignthey should be beating team like carlisle and be happy with points off teams like us. I am confident about this one and will go for 2-0. I really think that ward will keep everything out. He needs anoyther cleansheet as he has let goals in in the last two games. I also think that zola will be buzzing and really up fot a few more goals. Mullin and Zola will score.

I wouldn't be too upset if we only got a point out of this one, but would much prefer all three. Forest have a decent manager and their last couple of results have come as a reality check, certainly our hardest opponents to date.

I read a lot of our fans are just expecting us to win and are so confident... lets not get too confident just yet hey. Theres a long way to go this season and even if we beat Forest it doesn't mean we are going up just like if we lose it doesn't mean we aren't. A draw would keep us in contention with them but obviously it would be very nice to go top!

McLaren defintely out with McAteer and Harrison still. Ellison is unknown until he has seen eye specialist today and Greenacre and Sherriff are still doubts too.

Just read the links too. As nomur says they really aren't happy are they :-D . All a bit of smoke really. Carlisle will give a good game to whom ever they play this season. Their just as tight at the back as we are so why the Notts Forest fans are getting all hept up beats me especially as their 5pts clear of Brizzle.

As for the game i think we'll shade it 1-0, anything more would be a bonus but it's one of those momentus games of the season already before a ball has been kicked. As RM says anything less than a 10,000 crowd and we never will.

Yes, there can be no excuses. Top two clash. All the makings of a great game, great atmosphere. I hope as many people come down to cheer the lads on. Winning the game would certainly be fantastic.

I don't think we should take much notice of their recent results or who they've played. They are top. They are a decent side. They are going to make it tough for us.

I still believe at home, we'll win the game. Looking very good at home this season and the players I hope to god will be up for this game.

2-1 to the Rovers.

Perhaps time for our own reality check... but then again there's also no good reason why our good run shouldn't end, the belief in the ability of our manager and players is rightly high at the moment and going into the game we are the division's form team.

A win would help to enshrine the 'fortress prenton' still further and give us that unbeatable, top team aura that we haven't had for quite some time. A draw would still be a great result and so even if forest score first, and let's hope not, we'll still have plenty to sing about and keep the atmosphere going. As Aldo recognised, having fans who will spur you on no matter what the circumstances can bring unexpected top drawer performances from players.

Jesus Christ, will you lot stop saying a draw would be a great result. Lets get rid of that "sh**ting ya pants" mentality, take a deep breath before you leave the Clipper with the froth of ya guinness still fresh round ya lips. Reach into your boxer shorts to check you've still got a pair of balls attached and lets show this league we mean business.

NBDH, im sorry mate but if Forest score first, i for one wont be jumping for joy and about to embark on my all time best ever rendition of "by far the greatest team". i'll be f**king livid at letting the travelling forest fans think that because they won the european cup 200 years ago and that they once had a manager who grabbed brown envelopes stuffed with £50's in one hand whilst downing a pint of whiskey in the other that they have a devine right to just coast this awful division without someone sticking it to them.

Let me tell you they've got two hopes of winning this league, Bob Hope and no hope.

Come on lads/lasses, tell your brothers, sisters, dads, homer, uncles, aunties, stewie, grandparents, dentist doctors the old man next door. for all i care go drag paul o'grady out of his hospital/death bed to see if he remembers he's from birkenhead and that we've got a football club we all love, but just get them down to pp on saturday and lets absolutely tonk forest and we'll all go home happy. they think they're kings, well lets treat them like a bunch of queens with their knickers/boxers round their ankles at the back of sherlocks on a saturday night!!!!!!!!!!!!

just read the section header about colin calderwood. if this doesnt wind you up and make you want log on to wikifcukingpedia at 5.00pm and change it then i dont know what will. it made me log on and we've still got 5 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love wikifcukingpedia....... who needs banksy the graffiti artist

Oh I'd love it if we stick it to them.

But should the worst happen and they score first, I'll still be singing, obviously not 'by far the greatest team' but probably 'Tranmere Tranmere Tranmere' and 'SuperWhiteArmy', with perhaps a hint of 'we want four, we want four'.... okay so I'm getting a bit silly there, but this kind of clash brings out that good kind of silly in me.

Point being that it's important to support the lads no matter what's just happened, there's still going to be a match that can be won. Under Little the other team would only have to look at us the wrong way and we'd be handing the points over to them, time after nerve jangling time. But things are now back to how they're supposed to be, that if we were down to ten men and two goals down, you know what the opposition would have to be fools to count us out, and I like that - I like that a lot...

RUN RUN WHOEVER YOU MAY BE

I agree NBDH and thats what i meant when i was saying a draw wouldn't be a disaster a few games ago against Bristol City! I'd love to be at this one but unfortuantly I can't. I hope and know that all the Rovers fans that are lucky enough to be there get behind the team for the whole game and like NBDH says if we did go behind which hopefully we won't then continue to get behind them!!! These are two massive home games coming up and if 6 points from the Forest and Huddersfield games it will make things a lot easier when it comes to the tricky trips to Bradford and Swansea!

This is seriously pant wetting suspension, there' still 3days to go and I really can't wait. I dreamt of games like this for years, if that smell of a lovely hotdog with onions from the burger bar by the entrance to the main stand isn't enough to get your juices flowing, then this one sure will! Guys and girls come out in force bring your kids, friends, your friends friends, mother, fathers, wives, grandparents etc need to turn up in droves for this one because a top of the table clash is never one to be snubbed, and come on its not as if its expensive, and you are guarenteed a quality game with a great atmoshphere, i can't think in the 18yrs i've supported the mighty whites have i been this excited about firstly a single match, and secondly the entire season (i was too young for the play-off season-but curse Eric Nixon!). I've got a feeling in my waters ........ the Super Whites are going up!!! Ronnie Moore Moore Moore, Ronnie Moore Moore Moore! U know the chant!!

I'm feeling confident, we should be breaking a 5 figure crowd for the first time in well over a year and though we have injury troubles, most notably in the center of midfield, they will also be missing a few players and as was evident from the links to the forest fan forum they aren't playing their best football as yet.

2-1 to the rovers.

Oh and after following AJSM's link to wiki i found myself doing what I always seem to do on that site, visa vie spend over an hour clicking links and reading page after page until I somehow reached a page on the Smiths second album having been reading about Hugh Laurie. Anywho I got onto our wiki page and couldn't help but notice a very subtle but incredibly humorous alteration:
