Rovers are in action this Saturday as they travel to Holker Street for a tricky test against The Bluebirds. Barrow sit 4th in the table and are having an excellent season so far with twelve wins and only four losses. Their form of late has been patchy though.
Their recent game against Wrexham got off to a great start with a goal from Kian Spence after only one minute of play however The Red Dragons scored three goals in three minutes effectively ending the game at HT and went on to win 4-1. Previous to this, they drew 1-1 with Accrington and 2-2 with Stockport but this will be a tough test for Rovers.
This will be Tranmere's first game after their mini revival without playmaker Rob Apter who has been in sensational form for Rovers but has now returned to Blackpool after his loan spell came to an end. This could be a chance for Josh Hawkes to cement his place in the squad before the comings and going in the January transfer window.
Former Rovers players George Ray and Sam Foley may feature for the home side.
Rovers will be hoping to avenge their opening day defeat against Barrow having lost the first game 1-2. Hawkes scored a penalty in that game but Barrow having taken the lead with a 19th minute Canavan goal scored the winner in the 70th minute when Spence's excellent volley hit the roof of the net. Hopefully we will see a different Rovers on Saturday.
