Played well first half but didnt take any of our chances. Then played poor 2nd half but Facey scored for his 5th in 5 games. Just as it looked like a win they equalised after some poor defending. Should never have lost that. Greenacre also went off injured which is worrying. Gutted and so not really going to say anything else on it. Just so disappointing!

Why oh why can we never hang onto a lead! Is it really so difficult. The 92nd minute. Now that is taking the piss!!
Gutted, all that hard work thrown away. 2 much needed points thrown away. I'm not going to say we were unlucky. Yes, should have won the game but lacked professionalism to see it through to the end.
Now this is one of the reasons why we find ourselves in 19th place in the league.

silly me, i actually got my hopes up when the extra time score board went up, but as usual tranmere throw everything away, i would be seriously pi**ed if i was facey having to look back at the defence crumble when you've done your part.

With this manager a relegation dogfight is exactly what to expect. But you all know my views on that already.
There was a time not to long ago when anything but thrashing Blackpool soundly home and away would be seen as deeply embarrasing, and unusual. No longer sadly.
While it may be true that we can beat anyone in this division, I fear it's also true that everyone in this division can beat us. Relegation is a possibility, but let's hope and pray that it isn't going to happen.

tranmere deserved thw win, we played fantastic, should have bin 3-0 up done and dusted 3 points in the bag, but we were only 1-0 up and they equalised with 10 seconds to go.

Blackpool 1-1 Tranmere Rovers
Tranmere once again conceeded at in the second half when ahead to grab a draw from the jaws of Victory for the second time this season against Blackpool.
Tranmere made one forced change from the 2-1 defeat at Barnsley, bringing Carl Tremaco in for the injured Mike Jackson. Tremaco filled in at left-midfield, meaning Gareth Roberts slotted in at left-midfield and Ian Goodison partnered Ian Sharps, captain for the day, in central defence. Theo Whitmore made the bench along with Calvin Zola, Steve Davies, Sam Aiston and Phil Palethorpe.
It was a srappy affair, in which niether midfield could grab the game by the scurff of the neck and take control. Niether strike force were presented with many chances in the first half, as defence came on top nearly every time.
Rovers carved out the first chance of the game in the 5th minute, when the ball fell to Carl Tremaco just inside the area on the left. The youngster did everything right, hitting a low, powerful shot, which unfortunatly went just wide of the near post.
Tremaco was in the action again, 8 minutes later. His low cross from the left was met by Chris Greenacre, who unfortunatly managed to hit the building site rather than the goal.
Steven Francis, who scored against Swansea not so long ago had a powerful shot from the right saved by Lee Jones too as Rovers piled on the pressure.
However, bad news was to come for Rovers. Leading scorer Chris Greenacre collided with Danny Coid and each had to be substituted with injuries, Steven Davies replacing Greenacre.

The ball fell to him on the right hand side of the penalty area, and his option to shoot from an acute angle was not the correct one. Rovers had the next chance three minutes later as they kept in charge of the game as far as attacking goes. Steve Davies got the ball 20-yards out and his shot was well saved by Lee Jones, diving to his right.
Tranmere then once again had a chance five minutes later. A flick on from Steve Davies went to Delroy Facey and his strike was turned round the post for a corner by Lee Jones who was in good form.
So Rovers went into half time at 0-0, but really, as they probably knew too well, they should have been perhaps two or three goals in the lead. And Rovers were going to have to pay for these misses late on.
Niether side could get a grip of the second half, with each side frustrated by poor passing, good defending and in general poor play. Each side had good oportunities, with the pick of them falling to John Murphy and Delroy Facey of Blackpool and Tranmere.

On 68-minutes, Stand in 'Keeper Steve Wilson was lucky not to be given his marching orders after handling outside the area. Wilson recieved only a Yellow Card and luckily for Rovers, the resulting free-kick was sent wide by Kiegen Parker.
Three minutes later and Rovers were on the break again as Steven Jennings shot into Jones' mid-drift and Davies forced a corner soon after.
As the game crept into the final ten minutes, you would have been forgiven for thinking this would be another game where Rovers failed to score where they went home with just the point, or maybe nothing. However, Delroy Facey netted his fifth in five games and his seventh of the season overall to put Rovers 1-0 up.

Some Tranmere fans tried to start a "Congo" but that was stopped by the Stewards, who had earlier in the match thrown somebody out of the ground for a crime he didn't commit. Im very disappionted. We were robbed by the worst side we've played this season and we should of scored about 3, 4 or even 5 past that shit but thats football but they are really shit. Wilson done well never hjad much to do like but that last hik-up let him down today. Facey worked hard but needs to think whats he doing sometimes like. We should of won that crap anyway

Little has grown on me, although i do not like his tactical decisions especially such l8 decisons to subtitute and leaving inspiring players on the bench like Tremarco and Aiston, actually i don't like him as much now :lol:
I think the problem is the majority of our players who wer here last season, felt so much more comfortable scrapping wins and looking down on the teams in the table, but the little slip ups have cost us immensly and now with players on loan, the team cannot gel as much as intended. This team at the moment is not the Tranmere we once knew but i'm sure by the end of this season if we have actually managed to stay up in league 1, then this will inspire the fresh team we have now to push harder.
I'm actually looking forward to McAteers return he's been sitting by Brian long enough to know what the fans want, and hopefully he will be determined enough to bring more strength and experience back to our line up.

Best that I've seen as far as centre midfield pairings go, was probably Liam O'Brien and Kenny Irons. Although more recently I think that Gary Jones and Nick Henry worked well. Nick Henry, now he was a quality player.
As far as ones who should be in there but aren't - I suppose the main one is Alan Mahon, who showed glimmers but didn't really form a strong partnership with anyone, ultimately was better as a left sided player really.

i wish Little would stop saying we were unlucky every week, if you cant defend for 90mins+extra time you dont deserve to win. A substitution 2 minutes from time is no good, rankine was tiring and harrison did nothing and jennings doesnt look comfortable on the right,so why wasnt theo or aiston given a chance, it wouldnt have done any harm. the pitch was a mess, heavy on their legs so get some fresh legs on earlier Brian. We cant be happy with a point away to such a poor side, i'd have taken a point if we were up the top and winning at home but were NOT so yesterday was a must win game :evil: :evil:

Worst part is that it wasnt a skillful winger or attacking midfielder gliding through our defence to score it was a lanky centre back and whats more he used to play for everton :cry:
I've got to admit that it was a freak goal though having seen it on the Championship! When are you ever again going to see a League One centre back go through one on one and manage to keep the ball under such close control as he did. Got to give the lad 10/10 for composure.... thats not saying Goodison or Wilson shouldn't have cut it out though!!

After that performance, Goodison MUST be dropped as should Harrison and I'd like to see Palethorpe given a go against Carlisle atleast.
