Gills better team once they scored. We never looked anywhere near scoring. Very poor ! Should have stayed at home in the warm.

It could change results. Plenty of clubs changes managers who with the same players achieve better results. A change of voice, a change of tactics etc.
Not guaranteed but it can sometimes work.
If we do the same thing over and over we will get the same results which is what is happening and will continue to happen

That won't change the quality on the pitch.
It might not but it could be worth a shot. There have been plenty of occasions in football history when a new manager has done better with the same group of players. Yes, there is always the chance things could get worse but in my opinion the time has come to consider change.

You are clutching at straws. The season is dead now. We need to focus on the players and get better quality in. Not sure how a new manager will win games when there is not one decent striker at the club.

Hemmings is still decent if we play to his strengths which we currently don't. A new manager Will probably try different formations and commit more men forward

I agree but I'd do this with a new manager at the end of the season. Micky is a legend but longer he stays the more likely his to damage his reputation. Things will turn sour for him because there are a very vocal minority who will become abusive. I'm certainly not one of those but I think it's time for a new broom.

Only three tactical subs and three summer signings out on loan, no first year pros recalled either. Something is wrong
The O'connor wide who balloons crosses and no left foot. Merrie kept the inside out tactic going so you defuse yourself.
Unless advised otherwise won't be watching

Apologies if I missed something. Was chasing grandkids around during 2nd half, but from what I saw I'd have hooked Mumbongo 10 mins after he come on. When I saw him he looked like a space cadet and there seemed no conviction to any attempt to win the ball. Just lame atte.ptsto even get near a challenge - even threw a few short strides in if he didn't fancy it. Frustration I'm afraid, but never a pro footballer for me.

It’s rare I struggle to pick any positives from a game, but todays is one of those occasions. Painful watch for the most part. Once that poorly defended first goal went in, you just had a gut feeling it was game over. Our theoretically easier run of games haven’t been the best so far. We don’t even have enough players right now to experiment to wind down the season.

Come on.. He's probably the best of a bad bunch, like i say clutching at straws.
So we just keep Micky as manager then season after season playing the same way?

The football is dull and uninspiring and is unlikely to improve much regardless of what players we bring in

While not quite the hammering I feared, a poor performance from Rovers. We’ve got the points to be safe but too many injuries to allow any experimentation with the line-up at present. While it would have made no difference a bit puzzled at Micky preferring Chalmers to Turner-Cooke and as said above Hawkes an odd one to take off as the only scorer in our midfield

The football was fine when we had players capable of competing but now we don't (that was a few seasons back). It will also never be great quality in league two. Most teams in this division are dull and uninspiring because there is not much quality between them. What amazing changes could Micky make that will work with these players? Let's take Burton as an example. "What does Burton have to do to get a game?!" yell the supporters. Well there you go, he's played him and he's been awful, just like the rest of the forward line. So what now? Shall we turn to Max Fisher? They just aren't good enough, simple as that.

We seriously need to focus on recruitment and we need investment if the quality of players are to improve.
Changing the manager is like putting lipstick on a pig IMO.

Mumbongo looks like he won a club raffle to have your name in the squad and because we’ve got injuries he’s actually getting a game

Burton won't do much if all we do is hoof the ball up towards him, the same as we do when Hemmings is up front.
We were told by Micky before the season started we would take risks, build up play from the back yet we don't and play far too many long balls.
We don't have a go at teams from the kick off, we don't commit many men forward.

The strikers would need to have a fantastic conversion rate to score many goals as we just don't create much.

Could not of put it any better Sparky.
Even when marking up for a throw in he didn't have a clue.
Hard to imagine how you could be at the club every day since the season started and not learnt a thing.
If Davies and Turnbull are fit I'd play Jameson up front before Mumbongo. At least he'd get stuck in.
This also proves Ian's point that the squad is very poor.

Recruitment has been really poor, but Micky will make the point that it is all we can afford.

Until we get some serious investment or the Palios sell the club, we’ll always be shopping for the value products instead of Tesco finest
