Wonder if it’s worth trying Burton for Hawkes in a front 3 similar to the second half at Grimsby. Davies blocked header the only real chance of the half

Yes it’s looking that way. Apart from Morris early shot in the first half their keeper has hardly had a save to make

Would be worth a try but doubt Micky will try it.

Poor second half for Rovers. Mumbongo and Hemmings had chances and there were a few balls flying around their box, but nobody getting the final touch. Crewe probably more likely to increase their lead in the end with a few good breakaways.

I didn't get the Nolan substitution at all with formation changes while Gareth Roberts said the pitch was poor suggesting unsuited to his style of play. If you do make that change, then move Merrie to the left, where Bristow was fairly isolated, while there was a glut of players and lack of space in the centre of the park. Morris also seemed isolated on the right as we seemed to go to a back 3 with JDC mainly defending. At Grimsby we got ourselves back in contention with a Burton Mumbongo Hemmings combo and were only an off target header from getting something. By contrast Nolan added little and Micky must accept responsibility for that being a wrong call.

We have one of the best defences in this League, two excellent wing-backs, a half-decent midfield, and one of the most creative players in Morris but 3 of the most ineffective strikers (if that's what they are supposed to be) in Hemmings, Nevitt and Mumbongo.......63% possession today, 13 corners, 22 shots with 3 on target....the statistics say it all. We will go absolutely nowhere with these so-called "forward" players. What a terrible waste of 3 points today against a really poor Crewe side.

Agree with this 100%, Mumbongo in particular is really poor! We're unlikely to a get a striker of any real quality, if at all, in the January window and we don't have enough goals in the side to challenge for the play offs in my humble opinion!

Alot going on today

Our fans were so hostile towards morris who i thought had a great first half. Probably most creative player. Fans so on back of players. Almost down right abusive and threatening. Must stop

Nevitt subbed early second half speaks volumes; something not right

We simply cant shoot on target and therefore score

Davies at the end telling us all to flip off numerous times when booed by a few idiots. So little respect both ways

Seems alot wrong

Worry mellon not working out and will be gone come May

A very frustrating afternoon against a fairly poor opponent. We started really well with Morris hitting a decent shot from distance which their keeper tipped over. He had another one blocked and Nevitt then missed the best chance firing wide from a Bristow cross. A number of corners saw Davies win a back post header but no one got to the second ball. I felt we needed to score when on top but we didn’t and a mistake cost us. Merries poor header was capitalised on and their lad lobbed Doohan.

Second half we hugged and puffed and mumbongo who missed a good headed chance at Grimsby, did the same again from a cogley cross. We didn’t look like scoring all night and the lack of squad options partly cost us.

Mumbongo didn’t look fit and couldn’t win a header. Nevitt was poor. Hawkes got into good positions often but his end result was lacking at times. Merrie and OConnor were ok but we could have done with mcalear or someone with some dynamism or attacking threat. Nolan on the left was bizarre when you had Rhys hughes on the bench who can put in great delivery.

I guess what today shows is what Micky has said all along about this squad being inconsistent. We can win at barrow, but lose against a poor Crewe side.

Let’s hope for a fruitful January window as otherwise it’ll likely be a mid table season finish.

What a frustrating day. Started the game brightly and had some great early possession and chances topped off by an excellent Morris shot, well saved by their keeper. Things were going well until we got sucker punched by their goal. Completely deflated us and we were pretty much poor for the rest of the match. We did nothing for the rest of the first half and the second albeit some time wasting by Crewe was a waste of time with no-one taking responsibility. The ball went sideways, the backwards, then sideways again, anywhere but the box! There were no standout players for me, I thought they all needed to take some responsibility for a poor performance overall.

We may have won two on the bounce but there are still the same old issues. I think we had 22 goal attempts today and only 3 were on target! Both teams probably should have score one in the second half, not sure if our chance was cleared off the line, it was a bit of a scramble and I was down the opposite end so couldn't see clearly and they had a great chance, one on one with Doohan and he sliced it wide.

I really hope we can get some quality in this month as we are just too inconsistent and too weak up top.

I left right at the final whistle so disappointing if the players got some stick. There was plenty of effort and it’s not Davies fault we can’t score. I also heard some moans at Morris early on which I couldn’t believe.

Hopefully the players realise that unfortunately the small clueless minority sometimes make the loudest noise

I keep hearing about guys not looking fit. Is this team fit enough? Were they all knackered after the Barrow game? That said, given the inconsistency that others have commented upon, the result came as no surprise when I opened my Ipad this am! Frustrating!

I’m shocked that Morris was getting stick, on screen looked our best player in the first half and no worse than the others in the second. Davies and the fans who attended both frustrated so maybe the verbals understandable though can do better without.

I was saying to my lad that this is sometimes the problem with large away followings especially when the fans are close to the pitch (I was on the second row). You get a few muppets who’ve had a few beers and they start shouting nonsense
