Looks like 3-5-2 with Woods as third centre back. Morris and Caprice as wing backs.
Two very nervous teams. We have had four good chances. Morris and Ferrier shot across the goal. Jennings had a one on one but got injured in the challenge. Just before half time Clarke headed wide from the only corner so far.
Southend have missed three good chances created by mistakes in the Rovers defence. One was an open goal where the attacker took too long to shoot It’s nerve wracking stuff. We desperately need a goal to calm nerves.

Can’t see why Southend are struggling. They look lively but so far lack the killer touch. Micky will need to clear minds at half time

A poor quality, scrappy game but we had chances to win it. The clean sheet is a positive. Clark and Woodyard were both good and will improve us in the long term, most of the rest were below par.

I’m surprised that Micky set up so defensively in midfield. Injuries to Connor Jennings and Woods (again) a concern, Connor due to his improved form, Callum down to the scarcity of defensive options. Will await the reports from fans present with trepidation, given BBTC recent post

It was a poor game but a decent point. Southend have drawn with Rotherham and MK recently and are working hard under Campbell. Clarke and Woodyard are good players and will improve us.

You wonder if it was a bit negative given Southend’s poor home form altho a few draws recently. Rochdales win shows a bit of a gap developing.

A shame CBT didn’t start after his second half at Watford.
