I thought Vinicious Junior aside Brazil looked very pedestrian last night, particularly in midfield.

Perhaps not invincible opponents should England meet them in the quarter finals, as seems quite likely.

I don't think they are close yo what they have been, Morocco on the other hand seem to be improving a lot
 
Morocco can be tricky. I watched Brazil play Egypt a few weeks ago and they weren’t great then.

We all been enjoying the games so far?
 
I thought USA looked very good. It worries me that Saka may be missing for England; I think he is one of our best and most consistent performers. Pleased that Scotland got their win but entirely possible that they could still get thumped twice and miss out. I struggle to understand why they don't just stop the clock for the hydration breaks rather than.adding time on. I pity anybody who has 23rd, 24th, 25th, 68th, 69th, 70th minute in a first goal scored sweepstake! Talking of sweepstakes I have the marvellous quartet of Qatar, Canada, Croatia and Germany.

Egypt take the lead against Belgium.
 
France look the best team in the competition by a distance. Passing and movement of the front four is superb.
 
Michael Olise has also come a long way from Reading. Unbelievable player.

Wow! I bet no-one predicted that score! That was the quality of football you expect much later in the tournament.

My take from a Rovers point of view is about the one who got away. If only we could have got Anthony Barry as our manager when he was in the running. What a superb coach he has become.
 
I thought our attacking football was superb, as good as anything in the competition so far. The defence does not convince, but we knew that would be the area of weakness.

I liked the fact we threw the shackles off in the second half and treated the game as if it was a domestic fixture, something England teams have always struggled to do in the past.
 
Really enjoyed the second half when we really took it to Croatia who couldn’t handle us at times. Defense a definite worry against better players but a decent starter.
 
A very good and entertaining game of football, regardless of how far we go it's going to be a cracking ride
 
I only saw the last 20 minutes watching in a fan park in Madeira and it seemed to be mainly Croatia until the England 4th, will try to catch up with the full highlights later.
 
I expected a dour game, so was surprised how the match turned out. A good start to the tournament four goals and three points can't be faulted, the defence needs working on as better teams than Croatia to come, later in the tournament but very pleased with the start.
