    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

The Squad 26/27

Doesn't look like veevers, Scott or mceviley were involved so maybe they have left.

At 6' 6", I can think of a role for him! More seriously, I would be surprised if he dropped to our level.
Still under contract with Cardiff from what I can see, hes 24 but so far has failed to live up to his potential

The goalkeeper situation is getting farcical now and was bad enough last season having someone in their 40s playing.

He’d be a decent squad player. I always liked him and has good experience at a higher level. Salford will be able to pay him more obviously
You say that, but looking at things, the signings, the players we are even talking to, presumably with a realistic view to signing them, the work being started at the Campus, etc. it is clear that we are expecting a substantial cash injection, i.e. the takeover completing, and then... well the new owners potentially have access to some very serious funds. I can't see business having gone as it has without a good degree of certainty

Hope you’re right, but I’m not getting that vibe on the existing signings, Davies the one player signed who’s above this level if his fitness guaranteed.

The signings don't suggest to me that a massive injection of cash is imminent. If recruitment is better than previous seasons, and it is still too early to tell either way, it will be because the judgement of Clarke and Whitehead is better than that of their predecessors.

If we sign Harrison Male, Johnny Smith a decent striker then maybe but otherwise I totally agree

Interesting Ince was there today but didn’t play and sat alongside the injured McGee and Watson.

Is Tom injured already?

Ince was on over £20K per week last season, Male is (supposedly) asking for £8K per week, Etete played in the Scottish Premiership last season, none signed yet, but as I said, the players we are talking to are at a different level than recent seasons, that doesn't come 'cheap'

Our budget this season without a take-over would be substantially less than last season due to the tighter SCMP rules. The Palios' would have to put in twice as much as they did last season just to match last seasons budget, which isn't going to happen unless they are confident they're not going to have to do it for long and get back much of what they put in. We have a higher level backroom team than previous seasons, money is being spent on the campus, the signings we have made are very substantially better than previous seasons, again not going to be cheaper, so where's this money coming from?

Ince’s salary isn’t in the public domain afaik and Male has denied all the Twitter hullabaloo about his salary. I’d agree, though, that Ince’s signing - if it happens - might suggest we’d be working with more than just another mid table budget.

Btw any of those websites out there that claim to have all players’ salary info can safely be ignored.

Male is not asking for 8k per week, he has confirmed that is nonsense. None of Ince, Male or Etete have actually signed for us yet.

We have so far signed 6 players, 2 on loan, 2 youngsters, 1 on 6 month contract and 1 with a poor fitness record, none of these so far smack of an increase in the playing budget

In addition obviously is doing heavy lifting, can Salford develop their paltry revenues to satisfy such wages now?

They haven't signed but aren't frequenting PP for any other reason than they believe signing is an option.
