    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

The Squad 26/27

More broken promises.. it’s going to have to be a very busy week or two coming up.

The only definite announcement to come is one delayed for media reasons. Until they sign anyone can fail the medical or get another offer. Like the takeover they only happen once complete, the rest is expectation management.
Personally I wouldn't want players willing to miss day one of preseason but many are happy to sit out august or even autumn for a better deal. The tax rebates help this
I am however completely out of date!!!

This could be promising. He signed a new three-year deal with Lincoln just before joining us on loan for the season, so must be highly rated by the Imps. He played regularly for Coleraine last season. Definitely worth a gamble.

Okoro certainly sounds hopeful. Slight concern that we’ve now used up two of our loan options both from L1 clubs land a third is likely to be a goalkeeper. We might miss out on the chance of loanees from the Prem Championship this way

Lincoln are a championship club.

Jordan Davies signs for 1 year, no doubting his talent but had had a number of injuries

Zane Okoro
Sounds very promising. Has had a season in N. Ireland playing men's football and as said another 3 year deal suggests Lincoln felt the need to tie him down long term.... coming to start as well is the suggestion!

Sporting director Jez George added: “Zane has done fantastically well to accelerate his development over the past 12 months so that he is wanted by a really experienced manager, at a really good League Two club, with the expectation of contributing for them as a starting player.

“That is credit to Zane and everyone at Coleraine, particularly their manager Ruaidhri Higgins. Zane has bags of potential and we have seen, even over the past three weeks of training with the first team, how he has benefitted from 12 months of men’s football. The new contract is a reward for Zane and testament to our belief in him to make the steps required to play in our first team, and this loan is the next one of those.”

Don’t know much about Okoro but sounds promising and won the Irish cup last season with Coleraine.

I liked what I saw on Saturday with Davies, both in the warm up and the match and he scored a cracker. Definitely a player there but obviously fitness is a risk but won’t be on too much and only a one year deal so worth the risk.

Unfortunately on our budget we have to take some risks if we want players of decent quality

A hamstring the season before last and something pulled in his outer knee last season. Let's see how well our new medical team are able to keep him going.

He’d been on trial at Bradford until a week or two ago and was reportedly impressing them (and other clubs). Presumably Bradford didn’t offer him a deal at the end of it but we seem to have nipped in quite quickly.

Possibly also Courtney Baker-Richardson today according to very reliable ITK elsewhere.
Also suggestion Tom Ince deal is not dead but merely delayed due to his Watford salary - presumably can't sign until his 50% salary ends so will be 1st August

Starting to look like Clarke is building nicely and we have a decent and more importantly coherent plan.

Nice to know someone thinks we are "a really good League Two club". ;)

This is a player of the quality we need. That goal he scored for us shows it. If only he can stay fit.

The age and calibre of player we are signing is an improvement. We now have three players in the 26-28 age bracket, so at the peak of their careers. Last season we only had youngsters or players past their best.

Sorry I’d forgotten they’d gone up last season. Whether a newly promoted Championship side has players of the quality of a longer established team could make an interesting debate sometime
