First half he played well - he seems to have all the attributes of a proper winger, great ball control, doesn't mind running at people and, on the evidence of his first two games at least, seems to know how to cross a ball. He also worked hard defensively and put in a few good challenges. In comparison to the likes of Myrie-Williams, Mayor's decision making also seems a lot more refined and doesn't tend to run into trouble and knows when to play it short etc. He was much quieter second half but on the whole looked a better option than either Shuker or Sonko. Barnett was excellent on the other wing, and would probaly have been my man of the match but for Goodison. Shotton and Chorley also performed excellently against two of the best players in the league (Mattock/Fryatt). Jenno and Kay also put in a good shift, and Gornell was very impressive indeed - top class hold-up play. Only Bas dissapointed for me, to be honest. What a great result though!
