John Thompson has signed for us on loan for a month from Notts Forest. He's played 10 games for them this season so not entirely sure why they let him join a potential promotion rival???

Still, it covers for the loss of Robbie Stockdale who unfortunately misses a month with a hamstring injury. Thompson is capped by Eire and can play anywhere across the back 4, but will presumably play right back (unless McCready switches).

He can play in the FA Cup game too which is good. He was solid on Saturday and made some good challenges. I'm sure like Ronnie says that with a bit more match fitness he will be more of an attacking threat too.
