Extends the loan of Barrett who is not good enough was a very poor decision and I can't imagine a few of the clubs who loaned us players our impressed either
It was suggested elsewhere that during the window, when it became clear that Murphy would be unavailable for a while that Crosby identified two keepers, one being Marosi, who could be signed on a short-term deal to the end of the season. Allegedly Palios blocked this.

It was a mistake to be so dependent on veteran keeper Joe Murphy. While the family issue that required his return to Ireland wasn’t foreseeable, the subsequent injury arguably was. Barrett’s frailties only became clear when he was actually playing in January. It needed fixing then.

I agree about the handling of the loanees and particularly Blacker. Crosby was at fault for not rotating them at all, meaning BB was constantly frozen out, while after a decent return at Fleetwood, if Wild had stuck with him in midfield for the Harrogate game, suspect we wouldn’t have capitulated so easily.

I am feeling sick as the game approaches. Although theoretically in our own hands, in reality my gut says we are dependent on others to stay up.

Even if it is true, doesn't take a chartered accountant to work out why we didn't sign a third full time keeper?
If it goes wrong, Crosby signing two significant players and then his squad being managed by someone else has seen little bounce from injury returns. Although we seem to pick up more injuries as they return?

I’m getting more nervous by the minute. I don’t remember feeling like this before the Crewe game last season, but perhaps that’s because we were in good form and it wasn’t the final game of the season.

I still think come 5pm we’ll be above that dotted line whatever happens, and that within say 48 hours Wild might have left as he won’t be here for long whether we go down or not

My gut instinct all along has been that we will be relegated.

If as expected we lose, two of the three sides below us only need to draw to overtake us, with Harrogate requiring three points, On current form, that set of results seems very plausible. The three sides we are fighting against have all shown greater courage, and been better managed, than us in recent weeks.

Hope I am wrong. Reverse psychology and all of that.

Signing a full time keeper isn't an easy option, where exactly do you source that?
According to A Trip To The Moon podcast, he said a football agent told him he offered a goalkeeper to Rovers for free during the transfer window and was told Rovers didn't need him, the goalkeeper went on to be signed by a Championship side.

Free as in no fee, if he signed for a championship club you an imagine how far out of our pay scale he was! Or maybe you can't?

My pleas for the four horsemen of the apocalypse to come ridding through destroying all league two football grounds making the FL to abandon all league two games and ruling the league to finish after 45 games, has not been met. Sadly that means I must prepare for today's game. I have joy abd happiness behind one door, so have Guinness in the fridge ready to celebrate if that door opens, behind the other door stands the grim reaper, in case that door opens and I come face to face with grim reaper, I have phoned my undertaker up and told him to check the football scores at 5 before coming, my last will and testament has been written. I have requested that I be buried in my Tranmere top with my Tranmere scarves around my neck, so in the future when my body is dug up so they can put up wind farms, historians and anthropologists would wonder about my burial gown. My daughter will be upset when she receives her inheritance of losing betting tickets and empty Guinness cans, but her partner will be happy because he will not have me coming up and drinking his beer while swearing and throwing empty bear cans at his TV every time they are on Sky. A months worth of Prozac ready to take in two hours between 3 and 5, phone number of the local mental emergency help and the number for the samaritans to plead with them to get the score changed. Thats me all set for the afternoon. Ian it may be worth having an agony aunt all ready for five o clock to give advice to Rovers fans. Enjoy the game lads and remember it is not only a game, its a matter of life and death.

Good read that like a bit of gallows humour. Personally I take the view that even since last time the division below is just div 5 now. Full time decent crowds mainly and on all known form more than good enough.for us.
Certainly I don't fear today like the Exeter one

A free signing as in no fee. I would imagine, now what his wage demands were or if they fitted into Rovers wages structure. I have no idea or what his wages to sign for another club was either. You asked me a question and I answered it to the best of my ability, if you need to know more I would suggest you contact A trip to the moon as he evidently knows more about it than me.

Bottom line championship wages are £5,000 a week so depending on his profile probably more than that. Don't think it is an secret that that division is a different world.
Leicester paid north of £2 million a year average this season and I think went down. Nors got £10k a week off a div 1 side with championship ambitions a while back.

I don't think this the gotcha moment people might think. I'm fact the exact opposite, no one will sign for us over a championship club. In fact we would struggle to do it over a div 1 one

Kenneh sitting two best minds on either side, not bad. Woolery and Whits up top, with ironside to come on for the former.
Not sure we have fielded.my choice all season Micky and kings did regularly, but this is close.
No midfield on bench?

For a game Rovers need to have a chance of winning, a defensive starting xi and no obvious game changer on the bench. Grimsby have gone very strong too

1 down at half time besides Whittaker we are carrying very little threat going forward, Woolery poor and the system is not working, need to make changes and have a go in the second half of we are to get anything out of the game
