Unsure how much weight Adkins will give this competition. After the defeat at Fleetwood, we probably have to win both remaining games to qualify. Leicester kids 7-1 thrashing at Wigan suggests they may not be the strongest of the youth teams we've come up against in this tournament and a win's going to help boost confidence.

If two up front is going to be part of the thinking when Luke Norris regains fitness, then it might be worth giving Dennis 45 minutes in a front two to see how well he can be supplied. Some of the fringe and recovering players do need match time, so potentially we could line up something like this;

Murphy
Starbuck Turnbull Belehouhan Wood
Apter Lewis Hughes Norris J
Taylor Dennis

If we stick to 433 then push Lewis up and replace Dennis with Saunders or Jolley and maybe bring one of Walker/O'Connor into midfield for Hughes/Norris J.

Wont be going to this, but hopefully we can play a few fringe players. I can't see the opposition putting up much of a test.

Surely this is a good chance for the likes of Hockenhull, Hughes, Mcaleer, James Norris and a couple more get some game time.

433 again. One way of getting Dennis fit. Like most I don't think the role suits his undeniable strengths......chasing down lost causes not being one of them.

Losing 1-0 and Leicester score again but it’s disallowed. Lots of huff and puff from rovers but no end product

Dennis has probably done more running with us this season than he’s done in his whole career!

We've had most of the ball and are quite comfortable but we have noone to put the ball in the net. There was a great opportunity when Taylor slipped past the sleeping defenders but had to shoot as there was noone in the box to square too. Too cautious, get men forward!

Unlucky, Apter hits the post and bounces out.

Nearly a disaster there. Starbuck and Murphy go for the ball, Starbuck heads it past Murphy on it's way to the net but he manages to clear it from danger just in time.

Apter with a few turns in the box, gets a low shot off, good save by their keeper.

Sounds like we dominated the second half but couldn’t find an equaliser.

0-1. FT
Certainly a cure for insomnia that one. Just no cutting edge at all. Back to the league then!
