It's refreshing to see so much agreement in this forum. On the PR side, they should have known the news would leak out and put something out before Sky and the Echo. Lack of respect to Les, the players and all the fans. A simple statement with thanks to Les would have been enough pending a later announcement about succession.
I hope a quick appointment is made, but they will do well to get someone in by Tuesday.
What I think we need is an experienced manager at this level or just below. An internal appointment to the end of the season would be disastrous. Summerfield and McMahon are at least as much to blame as Les for the tactics and recent poor performances.
Ideally, it would be great if PJ showed enough commitment to give the new man a two an a half year contract. The deal is for less I doubt we'll attract anyone worth employing. Why risk your reputation if you are offered a deal to the end of the season?
Ironically, I think it may be easier to attract someone now than it was when JB left. Club finances are better than most of our rivals and thanks to Les, the squad overall is stronger.
