Chorley signed for Rovers from MK Dons in 2007

Tranmere defender Ben Chorley believes having a number of young players in the Rovers squad is an advantage.

The 25-year-old feels the young players in the squad are doing well and he has been impressed with the form of defender Ryan Shotton.

"He's confident and I think he's done well for us so far," Chorley told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"Without a doubt he'll learn while he's here. He'll come away from here with more experience than he can with."
Shotton, currently on loan from Stoke City, scored his first goal for the club in their 2-1 victory over Huddersfield in the club's first away win since February.
And Chorley believes the young defender will benefit from his stay at Prenton Park.
"You can't beat playing first-team football. You can play 300 reserve games but you'll get more from 10 first team games. With reserves games there is no pressure and it doesn't mean anything."

Tranmere currently sit in mid-table in League One with 10 points from seven games and are preparing to face Colchester on Friday.
But the former Arsenal man says Shotton is not the only player impressing at the club this year and he admits the younger members of the squad are able to bounce back from adversity far quicker. "It's a positive that the average age of the squad is young," Chorley continued. "I don't think they dwell on it and sit there and think about it. As long as we learn and learn fast, we'll be OK."

Yep, he looks a real prospect, seems a pity he's on loan and if we extended it to the max during this window we can only keep him til end of November (max 3 month) then look at a deal for January. Definitely one for the future though, be nice to see him progress in a Rovers shirt.

Indeed, you can't beat playing in front of a reasonable crowd with points that matter at stake and it's more competitive, it develops you as a player and improves you. Just wish more clubs would use the loan system to benefits themselves and the player and the smaller clubs like ourselves. I'm talking about the big clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool etc who rarely seem to loan good young players, or so it seems, for them to gain experience - meanwhile they play meaningless reserve fixtures. Anyone fancy Vela from Arsenal at Prenton???!!!\\:D/
