I see Birkenhead Park has been nominated for Unesco world heritage status.

Good news for my much maligned home town.

I see Birkenhead Park has been nominated for Unesco world heritage status.

Good news for my much maligned home town.

Absolutely delighted. It should be on every American tourist’s must see list when they visit Merseyside. It was the model for Central Park in New York.
UNESCO status will mean that Wirral council have to keep it in good order, but it should mean more funding and lots of good publicity.
Birkenhead has been the poor relation for too long.
