That is a big result for Hartlepool. Although Stockport have more than served their time in non league football, I am glad they have not returned just yet as they would be big rivals to us financially.

I think a defender like Knight Percival is less showy than Manny, but more reliable. I think the promoted sides last season showed that is what is needed at this level.

Bit of a consistent theme here developing ... we are offering 1 year contracts - players getting 2 years elsewhere...
Nobody who has gone though is critical - though that of course assumes we bring in someone at least as good!

Anyone decent you probably have to give 2 years otherwise they will look elsewhere. Fringe players I don't see the point of offering more than a year. If they get a better offer, so be it.

I can’t argue with the length of contracts dished out. Davies and Knight-Percival have injury difficulties and NKPs good season at Morecambe preceded by an indifferent spell at Bradford, while Murphy and Clarke near the end of their playing careers. Merrie got a 2 year deal which makes sense.

Yes, it was rumoured we offered one player a deal who had turned it down, but from press reports that seems to have been Lewis.
