    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

New Owners

We currently have no manager, 1 coach, 12 players in contract of which at least 2 will not be available to start next season and we have just avoided relegation due to 2 teams being even more inept than we were.

We have a ground that is in need of a lot of repair, we have a fractured fanbase, our current custodian has lent a lot of money from a very dubious character.

We have been in a relegation fight for the last 3 seasons and without a change of ownership we are almost certain to get relegated. That's the reality of the club as it is.
We have a good mascot though!

Seriously, of course it's easy to be gloomy. But we have maintained our EFL membership. The takeover is well advanced and there are other options if the current option fails.

I'd take our position for being the the NL, in administration or owned by a rogue.

After a miserable winter, let's enjoy the summer until we hear some definite news.

Doubt the ground is anything unusual in comparison. Never worry about who you borrow money from, just who you lend to. His contract will be no different if it was held by Barclays
The rest is sadly true, nailed on for the drop if nothing changes

The problem is if it falls through it will take another 2 years of Palios pissing around and us falling down the leagues

I would guess you would see Palios stepping back more and more like PJ. Unlike Peter Mark clearly hasn't got a bottomless pit to dip into al either reluctantly.
No take over and our great fans will need to be greater!

I am not sure what your definition of 'rogue' is, but the owner has shown himself to be both inept and untrustworthy on multiple occasions.

He is one of the worst owners in the EFL.

Until he is gone, the potential the club has on paper can't be realised, and we can't progress.

I agree entirely but we should be careful what we wish for. The hole is deep, we do not need it any deeper!

Palios might not be the greatest owner but without him we might now be playing regular derbies again with Southport and Chester. This is still possible of course if the new owners prove to be flakes. We can only hope they want to be genuinely involved in rebuilding Rovers. The proof will be in the pudding and all that! :)

We have already played regular derbies with Southport and Chester under his ownership. And we will again, if the ownership issue is not settled quickly.

Thanks RLC. I agree entirely with your general comment but I would just observe that Southport left the FL in 1978 and Chester in 2000. Mark purchased Rovers in 2014.b Maybe you are thinking of odd Cup game?

We played them in the National League

Another Palios tragedy, allowing those two to get promoted briefly? Unless our spell in the national league is newsworthy now?
It is all too tedious now and when RLC claimed a global industry expert who reported something inconvenient, was a mate of Palios, any remaining credibility disappeared.
Being a fan is but odd at times anyway but fanatically campaigning against one of only two in living memory who have kept us sustainable is utterly bizarre.

It's naturally somewhat concerning to have heard nothing more, when we've been told that, supposedly, there are no obstacles to the sale completing now that EFL approval has been given and the terms of sale long agreed. The delay now is likely simply the complexities of bringing together the funds from multiple parties and getting the contract signed. It may be that though 'we' and perhaps the club see some urgency that the incoming owners don't, that they already know who they are bringing in, in terms of head coach, staff etc. I also have a feeling that initially they won't either be too concerned about players. I think the fans have some sort of idea that there will be a sudden influx of money and we'll suddenly be in a much better position. Only the new financial rules don't allow that, we are limited by our turnover, this coming season, even if an owner has funds, they can't simply put money in to cover wages as has been the case this season, any money the owners put in will also be limited by turnover. This will be being seen as a long term project by the new owners, not a quick fix. Also, if the plan is to move to a new stadium, I can't see much being spent on improving Prenton Park in the meantime. If DAV have been true in what they have been saying, then they will want the sale to complete, if they pull out/walk away, they'd have to go through the new regulator approval from scratch if they bid on any other club, far more complex, more probing, and time consuming. Likewise the club are absolutely going to want it to complete, for the same reason. Both sides seem to be giving the impression they aren't that bothered, but I suspect the opposite is true in both cases.

I’ll be amazed if we don’t hear something in the next few days. Perhaps not the takeover but certainly the manager as the players return to training next month. So many decisions to make on contracts and recruitment. Plus has anyone been planning pre season schedule etc?

This is why we need change to happen and fast because I always feel we get left behind whilst everyone else seems to be planning for next season.

I am happy with my comment above.

If we are giving Palios a get out because 'at least we are not Bury' (yet), we are setting the bar far too low.
