    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

New Owners

Ironside is too slow so needs help. Not sure we can give him that.
Quicker than Steel and shouldn't be beyond us to have an operable partnership up front. Whits and even woolery facing the right way and in their third could work never seen so many square pegs and round holes as this season

Those under contract would either be 'retained' or put up for sale. Given the current 'uncertainties' (though I'm hopeful the delays in the paperwork are just administrative rather than an actual issue and the relegation concern will be gone by Saturday teatime) any speculation is just that, but given their ownership of Cobh, and the links that gives to the Irish League, it's likely we'd see quite a largeish influx of young Irish players, but as they heavily rely on their own proprietary software and stat systems, any players they bring in, or retain, would have to 'fit' with the system they are planning. With Cobh, they play a rapid Press, much like Tranmere did in the 90s
Cobh is a different planet, Munster is one of soccer's weakest areas in Europe despite Keane! A youth system is fine there, remote from any competition and soccer big bucks will always attract.
But otherwise cobh plays a minority sport in summer!

I think we will still have 12 or 13 players under contract for next season so it may not be a complete overhaul of the squad
I dont know whether that is a good thing or a bad one, bigmart.

Here are the contract end dates for our contracted players. The three currently loaned out (Saunders, Davison and Taylor) are also out of contract in June 26.

As you can see, the majority of those under contract (12) will probably be here next season, although I wonder if McGee or Jennings will play again. I expect most of the others to leave. We may be able to hold onto one or two of the army of loanees we currently have.

Aaron McGowan
Joe Murphy
Cameron Norman
Ethan Bristow
Sam Finley
Omari Patrick
Jason Lowe
Ryan Watson
Kristian Dennis
Sol Solomon
Kaiyne Woolery
Luke McGee
Jordan Turnbull
Lee O'Connor
Nathan Smith
Patrick Brough
Josh Williams
Charlie Whitaker
Nohan Kenneh
James Plant
Connor Jennings
Lewis Warrington
Joe Ironside

The reality is a Palios continuation programme of short term credit lines to complete a sale seems highly unlikely, time has run out for that to be credible.
We either have new owners who bring in new players or, and this is the scary bit..........
We have big budget cuts, not sure the overall market will be too bouyant, so locals like Finley McGowan and Watson may agree to lesser terms than they hope for.
Bunging £3m to be in a lower half fight doesn't seem sustainable for anyone?

Tamworth are about to be taken over by Americans should be done in days, why oh why is it taking forever to get this deal done its a joke and piss take

Can't force someone to sign. Id guess Tamworth is a far smaller deal?

Not what i was getting at mark is interfering as per norm if you where going to pay £15m would you want him hanging on, i don't think so, mark is really sick and needs to retire and they are out of cash

I know all that. If someone met the full criteria it would be all over, they haven't. He mentioned he could consult if needed when the NY option was about, it was never a condition just a way of facilitating.
He's already moved away, the fact is we aren't as desirable as some hoped.
Personally having spoken to others in the industry we are probably well past peak investment and the Wrexham model was a one off. Very few can turn it into a mass TV theme.
We'll know next week I guess as no news will be bad news

I'm not sure that's the case, the plans for the club from the bidders are sound, and still very much make sense, my understanding (financial, linked in etc. reports rather than social media) is that it is indeed the regulatory process causing the hold up, it does seem to be true that American investors have failed to understand that the EFL has been applying tougher rules in the run up to the new regulator and haven't been prepared for the level of scrutiny, and in particular each investor providing more than 10% of the funds having to pass the fit and proper, identity, and financial checks, then providing guarantees of 2-3 years of funding to cover operation of the club and a business plan for such, for approval. The EFL would also have been heavily scrutinising any plans to sell Prenton and move to a new stadium, no longer something that owners can just do, it's something that will now require regulatory approval. It may be that the 'burden' of the regulations proves too much for the bidders, they may not have been structurally and financially as sound as they appeared or there may indeed be other issues. I hope not, I hope it is just the paperwork trail and the speed at which multiple layers of lawyers and financial vehicles operate at that has led to the delays, and that we will indeed here positive news next week. If not, next season may not be much fun.

Does beg the question are we not better with the less regulated lower league?
Sounds like EFL maybe seeing all new disaster ownerships off but also all new owners! High risk industry will inevitably come with high risk players, as private equity does.
PE take real car crash companies completely overhaul them, about 70% survive and kick on but others die anyway.

The National League also now falls under the Independent Football Regulator so same rules apply.

If the takeover doesn't go through within the next 2 weeks I doubt it will go through at all, there's talk of some of the consortium walking away.
Yes, it doesn't sound good at all.

I would think that, absolutely, if we don't hear anything this coming week, either that it's approved or an explanation that it's nearly approved, then yep, it's likely to fall apart. It would be 'walking away' in so far as the Tacopina Bid tried to portray, through failing to provide the required proof/evidence to the EFL. It may be though that it is just the usual sort of trash rumours, DAV absolutely want to move into UK football, they have stated not so long ago that there 'UK Flagship venture' was nearing 'launch' - If they were to walk away now, they'd then face the far, far stricter Independent Regulator new owners tests which will make the EFL process look like a cake walk, if they were to bid for any other club. As such, it would still seem to very much make sense for them to push on through any administrative issues. Given that the terms of sale had been agreed, there can't be anything there that is causing any issues (unless there was a clause on relegation, but that would hopefully be resolved by teatime today)

Well thank Fck, confirmation finally that the incoming bidders have passed the EFL tests (Mark's interview with Radio Merseyside yesterday) and that the Club want the sale to now complete as quickly as possible so that the new owners have the responsibility to appoint a new manager, have a say in player registrations etc. so will need to be in the next week or two - a note of caution though, he also mentioned there are still two other interested parties, realistically that isn't a prospect the club will want due to the new Regulator processes and the delays that would lead to for any new bid, but it is a reminder to the incoming owners that they now need to pull their fingers out and get a move on, and with multiple investors it isn't a simple process in pulling the funds together. Also of interest, confirmation that the sale was never dependent on our league position or not.

I will be more comfortable when we know a lot more about them, their detailed plans and how they will achieve their desired outcomes. Money on the table and the English personnel they will employ both in club management and the team. Their involvement will not reflect any long term club loyalty which might be a negative.

Just get it done and nove this frail but magnificent club on abd we can all then hopefully breath a little easier and hope for a better future

We currently have no manager, 1 coach, 12 players in contract of which at least 2 will not be available to start next season and we have just avoided relegation due to 2 teams being even more inept than we were.

We have a ground that is in need of a lot of repair, we have a fractured fanbase, our current custodian has lent a lot of money from a very dubious character.

We have been in a relegation fight for the last 3 seasons and without a change of ownership we are almost certain to get relegated. That's the reality of the club as it is.
