From what I understand, Devaney's injury record was nowhere near as bad as Mahon's was before his arrival. As I have said elsewhere, I think there must be another explanation for his continued absence. Certainly, from Parry's general record in the transfer market, there is no reason to assume he would waste high wages on a crocked player.

Alan Mahon was only 30 when he signed for us the second time. He's still only 33. Their ages and injury records aren't too different.

Wow I thought he was older than that.

Devaney's career has been less high-profile, so info about his injury record is more scarce. But he's certainly played more games, which might be one indication that he's had fewer injuries. Thankfully he's only signed for a year, regardless, as I expect he's one of our higher earners. Very strange though.
