What a fine win that was.
Good value for money, entertaining, much better!

When's the last time we won by 3 goals?
There was only one team going to win tonight. Not taking anything away from the win, but Huddersfield were poor. Coyne only had a few tame shots to save all night.

I thought it was a good team performance tonight. All players worked hard and it was pleasing to see. The second half performance was more enterprising than the first, there were some good moves and efforts on the Huddersfield goal.

I thought Taylor played well holding the line, loan singing Kevin Cooper seemed to do OK, although I still think he's a little off match fitness, but looks handy on the left and I was pleased with the midfield of Kay/McLaren.

Jones still seemed a little out of his depth, but tonight it didnt matter.
And defensively, the lads didnt put a foot wrong, with Goodison having a superb second half.

Well done lads. Top of the league again and an entertaining night. Can't ask for much more than that! =D>

I can echo all that - it was an excellent win AND we played well. The last three-goal margin I can remember was a 4-1 against Chesterfield and that was when Little was still the manager!

All round the boys did well, OK Town were poor, but we made them look poor. I am not getting carried away, but at times that was the intensity we need to be a successful team in this division. The stand-outs for me were McLaren, Taylor and Goodison - I want a pint of what he was drinking, some of the tackles were unbelievable, almost comical the way he tackled and won the ball.

If you think that we also had three clear-cut chances (Greenacre 2 and McLaren in the first move after the break), with a bit of luck we could have score 4, 5 or 6.

Only down-side for me, the bookings and the crowd, noisy, but 1500 down on the Walsall game. They missed themselves.

Well done lads!

Good result last night, and I thought in patches we played really good football. Neat, intricate passing and with a bit more incision in front of goal we would have murdered Huddersfield 5 or 6. Still, happy with the 3.

Special mntion for Gareth Taylor who I thought was excellent. He's had a lot of stick in the past, and I hold my hands up and say I have given him a bit myself, but last night he held the ball up, won headers and took his goal superbly well. MOTM in my eyes.

Early thoughts on Cooper were that he lacks match fitness. To be expected in fairness, but he worked hard but was always half a yard off the pace, but that will improve with games I'm sure. But he looked decent on the ball and hopefully will become a good temporary signing.

Goodison
great result, Goodison was immense. Mclaren, Chorley and Taylor also deserve a special mention for their performances. I thought the first half was a bit scrappy, not helped by the refs antics. The second half was better and when we got the ball on the ground and into Kay and Mclaren's feet, we looked quite good.

Huddersfield were suprisingly poor, they didnt really pose much of a threat apart from the ocassional long range shots, which Coyne coped with comfortably.

Cooper was a bit disappoiting, his delivery wasnt good and he gave the ball away in dangerous positions. But he didnt look match fit, so I would give him a few games to show us what he can do. I wouldnt play him at Forest though, I would play Tremarco instead as I think players such as Commons might look to expolit are wingers who are not the best defensively.

Good game and nice to see us win convincingly finally. We can still definitely play better though which is obviously a good thing. I thought Cooper was ok and give him another game or so and he should get better hopefully. Jones seemed to be a bit afraid to take on his man 1st half but 2nd half was much better. Set pieces were good again. McLaren excellent, Taylor 2nd half excellent, Goodison excellent. Kay was good too in the middle. We should beat most teams at home with that team and to think Shuker can come back in. Does anyone know why Zola wasn't on the bench? Hopefully not another injury. Finally disappointing attendence but starting to get used to that. On to Forest next and if we could win there we'd be flying.

Another injury! Yep.

Calvin Zola also got a knock on his medial ligament ? it?s getting a bit physical in training which is nice to see. Everyone is competitive and desperate for games.?

LOL. It's not good though is it. He's never going to get a break in the first team if he keeps picking up niggling injuries. It's a shame to say, as I do like Zola, but he's just too injury prone.

Pleasing result.

The local rag, while bemoaning Huddersfield's poor form, singled out Kay, McLaren and in particular Goodison "one of those games where he did not put a foot wrong"

Feel a bit sorry for Jennings, who has played reasonably well all season, yet dropped and likely to find it hard to find his way back into the 1st team now. Agree with Roverstilidie that Tremarco would be a better bet than Cooper at Forest.
