    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

The Squad 26/27

Darren has suggested he will be flexible re formations. Although he seems to prefer 4-4-2, he said there would be times when it would be appropriate to have three at the back or a diamond. Allow for even an average number of injuries and we may need even more midfielders.
Flexibility means more players really, not sure whether we will have the Micky masses or the Nigel quality. Not that the latter overwhelmed.
With no reserves id guess 25?

Its about time we started getting the team together pre season starts soon

Some talk we’ve paid a fee for Southport right winger Malakai McKenzie. 22 years old

As each day passes without a signing, it is getting harder to understand what is going on. Think it’s now down to four clubs who haven’t signed anyone yet. The names currently mentioned like the Southport winger are at best promising. Not looking hopeful is it?

Pre season training starts on Monday, our first competitive game is just over 5 weeks away and we probably need around 14 new players yet we've got none in

I’m not too concerned as long as we are doing due diligence and going after L2 standard quality. But we do need to sign most players by early July to get them fit and build team spirit. Loanees always come on late, but they do pre-season with their own clubs. One mistake we made last year was relying too much on loanees, as we couldn’t play them all.

There is talk elsewhere that we have signed Tom Conlon who was released by Oldham having done his acl in October, he is a midfielder who was captain at Port Vale under Clarke

Bigmart says: He suffered an ACL injury last October

Doesn't auger well but hope the lad has made a full recovery and plays well enough to get a contract extension

Happy but not ecstatic with both signings. Jacob Slater sounds like yet another homesick Scouser, but he could be a gem. Tom Conlon was a good player in his Port Vale days. We are now becoming a retirement home for ex-Vale players! However, just six months to see if his ACL is fixed and he can still run. Micky clearly was not willing to take the risk.

I am now expecting more signings to follow before training starts.
