A massive signing…on paper. I just hope he can contribute enough with minutes on the pitch. Being cynical I might say:

- he’s 35 in January .
- league two football very different from championship
- he’ll be used to playing with better players than our current crop

Hopefully I’m wrong but I’ll judge him on how many starts he makes and minutes he plays. A two year deal too.
 
That is potentially an excellent signing. I really hope he settles into league two football.
 
The club were always going to be looking for one or two highly experienced players, though someone who has played consistently at the levels that Ince has is perhaps more than I'd been expecting this season. He will have been brought in for a combination of what he still has to offer on the pitch, but also in terms of offering experience for the younger members of the squad and I suspect the club will have offered him help with getting his coaching badges with a view to a move into coaching/management. Dean Whitehead in particular is very stats driven/oriented and pretty much all of our signings show that, they are signings with a way of playing in mind, specific position cover etc. as well as to boost quality over recent seasons. As I said, ultimately it will be performances on the pitch that matter, but I think a certain level of optimism at this point isn't misplaced. I still think as well this shows that the takeover is actually 'imminent' ;)
 
Yeah, good signings so far. We have to give them a chance and actually play to their strengths if we want the best out of them.
