I think we have to accept that was always going to be the case with the way that RM has assembled the squad. But now that we're in this position, i really think it would be an investment for PJ to push the boat out to ensure that we maintain our place in the automatic promotion spots. The reality of the situation is that we may not be in this position again for another 10+ years, and a Championship club would be a lot easier for him to sell, especially off the back of the Ingleborough deal.
I think he owes it to himself to sign out on a high too, regardless of what people think of him. He's worked hard for this club and was there when it mattered. I've always backed his lack of 'investment' (read: gambling) when it looked like the club wasn't really going anywhere, but January could make or break a huge moment for TRFC and I'm hoping he'll step up and commit to investing with a view that promotion could be a very real possibility.
