    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

League Two Grimsby (1) v Rovers (1)

Agreed Boz,
I appreciate we have bigger fish to fry right now but were Man U really expecting their 2 players would get so little game time and would simply be make up palyers in training? If so, I really fail to see why they agreed to let them go and if they were expecting them to feature I wonder why they have not been recalled. If we stay up one has to wonder whether EPL teams will be more reluctant to let us have their youth players.
Recall to playing and training with youths? United knew the deal, the squad was short so they had a chance to impress that starts in training

The two Man U lads have a great chance to make a name for themselves. We are desperately short of central defenders and there is currently a vacancy for the new Rob Apter. If these lads can step up in training and show the can play and want to play, they will surely get the opportunity. If they have any future in football, then surely they should be able to get into this Rovers team.

Another interesting stat. Fitness issues maybe? Or just lack of concentration or inability to deal with teams upping their game in the second half. Suspect it’s a mixture of all those

15 of the 17 away goals Tranmere have conceded in 2025 have been after half-time.

.... and if we hadn't conceded them, we would be well clear of danger.

My theory is that because the team lacks confidence, particularly up front, it attacks less and invites the opposition to come forward. Even good defences crack under pressure. When you are a goal up, you've got to continue as if it's still 0-0. Only when the opposition throws everything at you in the last ten minutes should you park the bus. I'd also guess that late substitution have not always helped. Fresh legs yes, but also disruption.

It's a bit worrying that the Man U lads haven't stepped up yet BBTC as they've had a few weeks. They should have been busting a gut.
Maybe not deemed good enough at this stage of the jeir careers.

Adkins' inability to change things tactically mid game will be the major reason, plus his inept substitutions that generally weakened us in the second half of matches.

I believe that this tactical thinking on your feet has been missing from the majority of the recent managerial appointments.
And making subs, just because you can, has cost us dearly.
