    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

League Two Grimsby (1) v Rovers (1)

Yes he sets the team tells the coaches what he wants and all that. Its like being a chef i tell the cooks what i want and how its presented and prepared if they fail to do it they don't have a job its brutal but that's the way it is
Man management and a plan.
but you also need versatility of thinking on your feet, and know when you need to change if it doesn't go to the plan.
having a plan B etc.
Yep, like a kitchen!
I nearly said another word beginning with T.

Prior to their 1-1 draw at Cheltenham on Saturday, Grimsby had won 4 in a row. Given our away form and despite the change in manager and optimism from Saturday, we’ll do well to get something at Blundell Park

Another mixed bag on the voting showing confidence might be slowly rising.

Yeah, although not many thought we'd pick up points against Vale. I think we have to remember, the teams in this division aren't all that great, it's just that we've been absolutely terribly managed. If we play to our strengths such as picking the right players, playing them in positions etc we can give our opponents a good game.

I have read another couple of interesting statistics regarding Adkins' tenure.

We have taken 111 corners without scoring a goal.

We have scored two goals from set pieces in the last calendar year.

When you consider the proportion of goals that are scored from set pieces at this level, that is disgraceful. What the hell did Adkins do all day ?
Now sure how they adjudicate when a goal comes from a corner, but I would credit the well worked goal from a corner at Carlisle as counting.
Still a very poor record indeed.

Exactly right, AM. You have described management in every industry. If players make a few mistakes, they need to be retrained or replaced. If players still make mistakes, it’s the manager at fault. If a team fails 111 times to score from a corner, that is an amazing failure of management.

Yes we are so poor. I alway remember when kingy was manager we used the good old flick on at thr front post we got a fair few goals that way. It just shows the lack of imagination in the management and coaching. But surely the players must have a say on it and if this is the case then it just sums up the whole club at the moment. Like bringing in the 2 young lads from United. Wnats the ruddy point of wasting their time and ours and cash. The whole thing stinks

Problem is when you have a manager withno clue and a player rebellion then your screwed

So who wants to play on the pitch this summer who ever does it will surly be better than what we have had this season

Our away record this season:

DWLLDWLLLLLLLLLL

Has to change tomorrow

Saturday looked a hail mary on behalf of the manager's hopes. He has been here for weeks, he brings nothing new. So he made very obvious changes to put his brand on the match then just hoped something would turn up. It did in the case of a gifted goal and a point.
Maybe he knows our fans now, the week before was a far better performance which was applauded on media by our fans until we lost two late goals. Thereafter the whole match was regraded as abysmal on media. Opinions are purely based on results with some level of inventions.
We are in the season however where only results matter, a good performance rendered nothing, an abject one understandably got nothing also then an exaggerated ok performance got a point.
Tonight we may play well and lose, maybe the latest messiah will see his honeymoon period survive the night. If Jordan isn't fit I can see a hammering and if he is don't rule one out.
Sorry just not seeing this constant reshuffling as going anywhere and National league isn't streamed so this will be goodbye from him

A very strange take on recent events, DB.
The Notts County game was a good performance, a real rarity in away games this season, where arguably we deserved something but switched off for 5 minutes and got nothing. If we'd been able to carry something similar into the Accrington game, then it's likely we'd have got at least a draw and possibly better. However it turned out one of the worst performances by a Rovers team in a long time.
Disagree that the Port Vale game was only ok. Tactical adjustments meant playing higher up the field, acceptance of Finley's weakness at long corners so taking them short and giving the side-lined Hawkes a chance to boost our attack. Port Vale and Notts roughly the same calibre going by the league table. Constant re-shuffle? Adkins was allowed to stay far beyond Palios' normal timescale for axing managers and that delay may still cost us.
I don't think Crosby is a messiah, but initial signs suggest he's certainly an improvement. No idea how tonight will go until I see the line-up.

l hope turnbull is fit as i thought he had his best game for a while without davies on sat. also need to stop playing patrick as a wing back and get him further up the pitch, apart from that can,t see many other changes to be honest.

Will be missing this game with a chest invection, will try and follow it on BBC sport, everything tells me that it's a nailed on home win, I am going for a 1 - 0 scrappy away win, if we are going to stand any chance of staying in the league then we must start collecting three points sooner than later.

Some notable fixtures tonight. Carlisle take on high flying Walsall, Morecambe play hosts to AFC Wimbledon and Accrington are also at home against MK Dons.

Davies must be inured surely.

Jennings our third different captain in 3 games

Davies must be inured surely.
You would like to think so as the bench reads:

Murphy, Morris, Davison, Mather, Garrett, Saunders and Jackson.
