Take your blinkers off. Will you also be admonishing the author for cynically peddling a disputed story involving the much respected former chair of the trust (RIP) in order to whip up the local trailer trash to spew more of their bile over the bloke who’s financed your hobby for the last dozen years? Thought not.

guys let's just simmer down a little, we know the story I've read it with horror but lets stick together, because the way its going we will be heading into a season with potentially the poorest team we have ever had to please let's just try to enjoy the fact we wont be getting beaten every weekend ror the next couple of months, LoL

No idea how you think your faux rage works in your head. For your information I had been friends with Ben for maybe 40 years and helped get him involved with the club.
A mutual tells me he was shocked how upset and angry Mark was at that meeting without repeating the more salacious details being pumped now.
Another mutual shortly before his sad passing, spoke to Ben who was very positive about Mark, the trust and the new tent. He and I at the time didn't know how serious his condition was, in fact we didn't discuss it until his passing.
The fact remains the complete collapse of the tent project has affected Mark more than anyone. That is a financial certainty. Which makes a folly out of any suggestions Mark has blocked the project anymore than he is blocking any deal which is good for our club.
Other deals are very obviously available!!!

According to the Globe, Ryan Lowe is now favourite to be our next manager, not sure how likely this is.

Would be amazed if he came unless he had assurances about the takeover.

We’ve been a sinking ship over the last six years. It’ll take a lot to turn that around. Any half intelligent manager wouldn’t want our relegation on their CV unless they were desperate for work.

Easy journalism to write that. It's like linking a player to a big manager and writing United deny interest in Smith.
Most are on hols

I hope it is true, as he is as good as we could get in the current circumstances. He wouldn't be a pushover vis a vis Palios either.

However, as you say it seems very unlikely.

That article is largely a rehash of what one of the gambling sites put out a week ago. Not seen any odds more recent than that.

Lowe’s stock has fallen and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in L2, but there are just too many unknowns at the moment to hazard a guess at whether he’ll come here. If he does, I’d hope he’d appoint a solid number 2 because he hasn’t really done much since Schumacher left him to go his own way.

Agree. I would take him. Local, knows the club and has promotions on his CV. I suspect most league two clubs would have him.

Very unlikely unless a takeover happens. I’m still expecting someone like John Coleman but would prefer an up and coming manager with decent NL experience. Neil Gibson has been mooted

Yes from what I’ve read he’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But he is a winner.
He was a winner when he had big budgets and a top assistant, but he won’t have at least one of them here! Though his appointment would certainly generate excitement.

One name rarely mentioned is Ged Brannan. Did well at Morecambe under very difficult circumstances and worked well alongside Doolan to keep Accy comfortable this season. Not sure he’d be a number 1 here but I’d certainly welcome somebody like him as a number 2 to somebody like Lowe.

I think to attract someone like Lowe there would have to be an awful lot going on behind the scenes. Can't see it though..

For me, there are too many question marks about Lowe. Even if the takeover happens, we’re not going to be having a big budget and since he parted ways with Schumacher, it’s his former assistant whose career has shown the upward trajectory.

It seemed the consortium were linked with the Accrington pair at one stage, but all seems to have gone quiet regarding that. I wouldn’t be averse to Neil Gibson or another manager who’s done well at NL level and looks capable of developing players.

Would like Neil one day but maybe another year with Alty.

Even if favourite, it's a no from me for Lowe.

I’m not convinced Brannan wants to be a number one. Same applies to Clint enjoying his time as assistant to Challinor whose stock has never been higher and the championship could beckon.
