    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

Chairman Update

There are also other clubs for sale or looking for investment e.g Hartlepool. Even the Wrexham owners looked at other clubs first so any buyers interested in our club may have other options

Think the now Wrexham owners were initially looking at Pools but their owner didn’t want to sell.

We are in a complete full capitalist world now, every club is for sale at the right price. English football has been in an uninterrupted bull run for 25 years and more probably. Busts tend to be big after such a run!!!

He is an attorney, making money whoever is president. Fact is if he doesn't takeover he will have shipped some serious costs. Why would you want to burn a probable six figure sum to mess an Anglo-Greek fella about?
The new director is the second in a few days after the one Mark said he had promoted. Odd behaviour for someone on the cusp of leaving? This new fella sounds the sort of bod who may have been the one to give the Trust the professional advice they didn't want to hear!
See what happens but his costs will have been chicken feed in his world. Probably claim them against tax. As for Mark - who is this guy he would say? Anyway, my comments might all be rubbish. Either way, this has gone on for too long.

He'd have to have paid an awful lot of UK tax previously from his company taking TRFC to claim any back, which seems almost impossible.

I was not thinking of UK tax. These guys have innovative accountants. Trump reportedly pays less than US$1k a year and he has golf courses in UK. I doubt if Joe will have paid any expenses personally. Anyway, who knows. Time will tell with all this.

He will only be able to claim uk tax back from uk taxes, which I doubt he has ever paid any. Let's not bring Trump into this he has no connection and I doubt either of us have any knowledge on IRS. Trump probably owns far less than you think viz Branson who owns less than 10% of all his brands and are leveraged to the eyeballs.
Joe or anyone else who has been in extensive talks will have run up legal and banking fees, which down the line they could weigh off against our losses- maybe!

His golf courses in UK have been heavily loss making. Turnberry turned a small profit last year but every other year has lost money. Trump International has accumalated losses of over £16m...

Some of the extraordinary abuse of Palios, not on here, comes from fans who championed this guy. If there is something worse than no takeover, this seems it-

He was the figurehead nothing more, there's an investment company involved

You wonder if anything is going to happen before the season starts? We are about 8 weeks away..

Wouldn’t surprise me if Palios is still the owner come 2nd August. If more than one party interested it’ll possibly take more time.

I guess the good thing is we’re still signing players. Let’s just hope we have enough budget to bring in some attacking quality.

Not so sure. It was mine and others opinion that Crosby made very obvious personnel changes so that any recovery would be pinned on him, and he would get the job. It is called gaming the situation. It clearly worked he many fans ultimate messiah, for now.
Bit like most lower league managers have no interest in anything like development beyond a year, they believe with some evidence they will either to do well and be poached by higher up or be binned.
I fear Palios is in a very tight corner with few options. Unlike the nonsense Norwood eluded to, a club with assets does not go bust, it just borrows against the assets but adding to its annual deficit- a real death spiral though. It appears we have cashed in two chunks of collateral to fund last season, not the greatest success by any measure.
He could be playing his cards very close to his chest and hoping something turns up. Player sales are beyond most of our imaginations so only cup runs can prevent him having to cash in further.
Not sure the situation has changed that much since PJ could not get rid at any rate. The idea multiple serious punters want in at a seven figure fee to soak up more than a million annual losses, seems fanciful to me. The biggest issue is no matter what PJ did to fund a far greater team, revenue never matched his investment, in fact the very opposite.
Best case scenario is we revert to the Mellon outcome of keeping play offs a possibility and land a plum cup tie. Be very interested if we don't rest players in that ludicrous trend for the second match, ie League cup 1. Read somewhere that MUFC are in the bag for round 2 as non-european?

Altivest? Unfortunately they too are involved with SPAL. It was recently reported in Italy that Altivest’s COO, Blake Butler, took to social media to after SPAL won the playoff to underline that the US fund would continue to support the club next season. Obviously, for whatever reason, that support hasn’t materialised.

I think the first we’ll hear of anything happening is when the deal itself is announced - could be today, could be in a couple months.

Can’t believe things aren’t happening behind the scenes though. We’ll probably wait until we sign our 30 goal striker before announcing anything, otherwise the transfer fee will go up! :p

If you're finally recognising that some of the changes Crosby made were very obvious and they worked, would you also agree that Adkins was inept in not trying them sooner?

I'm unsure I'd put all Crosby's decisions into the very obvious category though. Examples include; Wood as a central defender in a back-three, Patrick as left wing-back, Hawkes straight into the starting xi.
