    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

Adkins

For me, and it is my opinion.
Regardless of his CV, and his experience.....And His positivity......
His body language is despair.
The question is being asked and it suggests, he doesn't know or understand the question.
Never mind the answer.
This is the reasoning behind the tinkering every game,
The shape, formation, copying the opponents, even at PP.
He doesn't know.
And if it wasn't for the three year contract, he would have gone.
His record since September is relegation, and shocking.

You would think that there isn't an alternative?

I don't know whether anybody else picked up on it, but at the end of the Fleetwood game a supporter had a frank but (apparently) civil conversation with Palios.

The said supporter reported that Palios had insisted the decision to keep Adkins was nothing to do with money.

I am not sure I believe a single word that comes out of Palios's mouth, but if that is the case, it makes the decision to keep Adkins all the more incomprehensible.

Three games have now passed since Adkins received backing from Palios, so let's look at the stats:

Wins: 0
Draws: 2
Defeats: 1

GF: 1
GA: 3

Two points out of a possible nine. Palios is either incredibly naive or just too damn stubborn.

We will revisit this after another three games.

This is starting to sound like a broken record. Palios accepts the situation we are in, a relegation fight, he claimed a reason why we didn't sign much not convincingly though. And has graphically explained why he believes changing manager isn't the answer. He did claim some sort of statistical proof this doesn't work on average, help yourself in debugging that. But pointing out a new manager has won somewhere doesn't prove a thing. Hughes v Adkins is working out for us, currently.
Palios has an opinion not shared by many but he has put ten million in which makes his opinion more weighty.

It’s not just Adkins v Hughes though. Rovers have to finish above two other teams in order to survive.
Adams at Morecambe and Weaver at Harrogate have both got better results than Adkins in the last three games. Dolan at Accrington is worse but they have a 2 point lead over Rovers effectively 3 given their superior goal difference and a game in hand too.
Getting the occasional scratchy draw against average teams and being thumped by anyone half-decent, while reluctant to use the full extent of the playing squad is not a recipe for FL survival. Why, Palios persists with Adkins, given he’s now said keeping him is not a financial decision, is beyond me.

Not sure what is so confusing, many fans want the ducking schoool approach and Palios thinks we should stick. It seems perfectly clear to me and neither side can prove they are right. If we go down one side will declare victory and vice versa, but we may have gone down or stayed up with a new manager.
It's a doppelganger argument there will only ever be one TRFC with this manager or a new one but never both.
The reality is we have defensive worries now. However if we start with Norris and Jennings up top, we look far more an EFL side with Davison not even on the bench hopefully. Players are a lot more important than many fans think, Morris and Hendry will do more for us than a new suit IMO

I don’t like to put the blame on any one person for the situation we are in, football is a team game. We can start with the owners , through to the manager, the coaching staff to the players, to me they are all to blame in their own way, when one fails they all fail, all I can, add is that the way things are going we are headed out of the football league, now you can't sack the owner, or all the players, so it falls on the manager and his backroom staff, whether someone else can get better results with the players we have remains to be seen because if nothing is done then we will have to accept the unacceptable. I was hoping that Adkins would resign before it was too late but as that seems unlikely I think it's up to Palios to bring someone else in and hope to get a new manager bounce that will get us enough points to save our place in the football league. Even if we escape relegation this season, unless we get investment that will allow the manager to rip this side apart and rebuild the sidw, we will be in the same position this time next year.

There's no guarantee a change of manager will keep us up but there would be a lot better chance with a new manager as its pretty obvious Adkins does not know how to get enough points on the board to keep us up.
We are relying on 2 teams being even worse than us and that's how bad the situation has become. We need players playing in their correct positions, not playing players who are totally out of form and not uptp the job, organising the team and getting results which Adkins ihas shown he's not capable of doing.
