    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

The Squad 26/27

Game on Saturday will be interesting. Pilot game for the new goalkeeper time out new rule. If goalie requires treatment, that team has to send one player off the field for a minute after the game restarts. This decision as to who goes off has to be made within 10 seconds of the goalie calling for treatment. If no decision the captain has to go off. All designed to stop time wasting towards the end of a game of course.

I’m pleased the authorities recognise the problem and the FA has volunteered to try this out for a season. But it seems a bit convoluted and could actually be unfair if the goalkeeper is genuinely injured.

However, Tranmere will have another entry in the history books. I wonder who will be the first player to have to leave the field for a minute.

After today’s business, I am much more cheerful. All the players have been with us for pre-season and have played in recent matches. One is a marquee signing and I am confident that some thought and planning has gone into the others.

Most reliable ITK on other site says 2 keepers in before Saturday and a striker plus also two out still likely.
Wonder who the two out would be. Brough seems out of favour, but can't see another unless we're taking a fee for someone like Whitaker

It's certainly good to have bolstered the squad, although unclear why we still haven't announced any keeper news.

Ince is an adventurous signing, but hard to know whether it will work out, obviously we're all hoping so. Scott plucked from a struggling Aldershot side with no FL experience in his mid twenties, will be a good indicator of whether Clarke has an eye for untapped talent. Veevers, who attracted favourable comment and McEvilly provide youth and depth to the squad.
