Couldnt really get excited about this one - but after Saturday, a win is a win so well done to the lads.

Same team as Saturday expect Collister played and was given a round of applause in the dressing room after the game for his performance !

Les said Showmuni showed our travelling fans what is really about so will be interesting to see how he did from anyone that went.

Adam McGurk was on the bench on non contract terms but looks like we're gonna sign him this week. Probably on 1 yr deal - regardless of whether ITM stays.

Great result. It was away from home and we won. That itself is pretty rare although we have won our last two away games :) Nice to be in the 2nd round and should give the guys some confidence.

I was delighted for Collister and the defence for keeping a clean sheet. He made some important saves as Walsall were not without their chances.

Fingers crossed for Huddersfield. Come on whites!!

Yeah, it sounds like Collister did really well, including a save after McLaren had made a real balls-up of a Rovers free-kick. It seemed like a fairly decent cup tie and even the usual whipping boys didn't do too badly.

It was a really committed, disciplined performance last night and we deserved the win. The key for me was the shape and organisation of the defence: Goodison and Wood were outstanding (I thought some of the criticism of him at the weekend was a bit premature) and even Darville was a bit better positionally, though still awful in possession.

Enoch had an up and down game, but the last fifteen minutes were the best we have seen yet in a Rovers shirt, as he held the ball well and showed some nice touches of skill.

We really should have scored more goals as both Wood and Moore (who was superb in the second half) had great chances, the latter from an excellent move.

Walsall only had one clear chance in the game, and that was gifted to them by Rovers due to the Darville cock-up that has already been mentioned, although this did give Collister a chance to pull off a great save.

In all, it was a really enjoyable night, with great backing from the Rovers fans. Roll on Everton in the next round !

Sounds much better than the Oldham game. Glad Joe Collister had a good game, think he's a good young keeper who we can rely on when Nielsen is on international duty.

Ian Goodison, nearly 38 and still our talisman. Tranmere legend! Glad we're having a closer look at Adam McGurk too. He looked useful against Liverpool, and this non-contract thingy gives us chance to have a good look and if he impresses then he can sign up for a bit longer.

Swansea at home in the next round, your thoughts? I wanted the Toffees, but never mind! Save them for round 3! :-D

Not sure what to make of Swansea at home. Not a particularly attractive game and the gate will be small, but at least we have a reasonable chance of making progress.

When you consider our away form last season, last night's result has to be seen as a big step in the right direction. In 2009-10 we only beat relegated or relegation threatened sides away from Prenton, but Walsall finished tenth last time around and are a decent side, with the likes of Byfield and Gray always a handful.

The Oldham game was poor and the squad is still too thin, but we are in much better shape than this time last year: we didn't produce a performance as good as last night until about December last season.

The squad is building, ideally Les would have had the squad's transfer dealing all sorted by now, but such is the current climate that hasn't been possible. Once the window is closed, then lets see what we have to offer. I have faith in Les' ability to get the best from the squad.

As for the Swansea game, have to echo Rockford's Love Child. It's going to be a small-ish crowd, no money spinner. But a half decent chance to progress. Lets give it a go, and maybe get that money-spinner in round 3! \\:D/

Will they be doing the seeded v unseeded thing again in third round?
