A report in the Guardian today suggests that Rochdale could go the way of Bury if they are unable to raise $2m by the end of March. It is sad to reflect that this is one year's wages for many Premier League players. No surprise that these sorts of things are happening in the north of England despite the bluster from the government about leveling up!

It is troubling reading about Rochdale’s current difficulties, like Rovers they appear to have suffered by dropping into the NL.Bury’s downfall brought about by their owners and the fans turning a blind eye a different situation. There seem to be a lot of clubs around the country in financial difficulty, not just a question of geography.

The latest on this sad tale.

I get no pleasure at all from this article and really feel for their fans. They did really well recently with their run in League One but suddenly it all went pear shaped.

The main take I gave from the article is actually how lucky we are. We are surviving if not thriving.
