What’s going on at Chelsea? The manager win three trophies including the Champions League, then loses his job after a couple of defeats. Graham Potter will be a rich man whether he succeeds or fails, but he won’t have much time to get results.

Micky should be grateful for such a supportive chairman, who has stood by him and even took him back after he had left.

Such is the modern way at certain clubs. You can have year after year of continual success. Then one bad period of half a dozen games and history means nothing and your sacked. A nice pay off will ease the pain but still a bit harsh.

I've heard the new owners wanted to cuts links from the Abramovich era, not sure how true that is, so they just needed an excuse really. Shame Potter did not stay at Brighton, he's done a fantastic job with them.

A bit surreal. Spend 250m and then sack the Manager. Potter is a good coach and I wish him luck. However, he has never coached a top of the league club and the axe will be out pretty quickly if he does not deliver. The player reaction will be important - who is this guy? The team will have to buy into his methods.
