Lorraines' views on the season gone:

Tranmere's season is drawing to a close this Saturday. The 2006/7 season has flown by.

After Ronnie?s arrival at the club last June we had a hectic summer with nine new signings and three re- signings. We started the campaign in style with a home win against local rivals Oldham and went on to spend the next four months competing at the top of the table for the first and second automatic promotion places.

Until the last few weeks our hopes were still alive for a top six finish. The thought of a play-off final at Wembley was a huge incentive but it wasn?t to be.

But we?d made progress. This time last year we saved ourselves from relegation in the penultimate game of the season and at the final game of the season it was clear we had a massive rebuilding task over the summer.

In contrast, we will finish this season at Prenton Park on Saturday knowing that there are specific areas that need to be strengthened and this will be a catalyst for some changes over the summer but we also know that we?re not a million miles away from being a very successful team in League One.

This time last year there was uncertainty for Tranmere supporters but at our final match of the season there will be confidence. now we have some exciting young talent coming through and a manager who is totally determined to win promotion for the club.

We?re already looking forward to the fixture list coming out on June 14 and the start of the new season on August 11.
