I'd let both of them go. Achterberg more reluctantly of course. Ellison is crap and Achto has injury issues.

Ellison I think we should keep for another season at least. His contribution to the team has been o.k. He will do well where ever he is next season. As for Achto. I would be sad to see him go but certainly not reluctant. I know he is a favourite but we aren't a charitable retirement fund so his wages can do better in some other capacity.

The fact that Chester seem to be offering money to us for Ellison makes me think we should let him go. We could get someone better than him on a free I think and then recoup some of what we spent on him last summer. Personally i'd like Achto to stay in a coaching role but if he wants to continue playing then we can't afford to take the risk of whether he will be fit enough to play or not.

I'd keep Achto for sure. When fit he's a class goalkeeper, we'll be hard pushed to find one better if I'm honest (with our budget too).

As for Kev, well, they could demand a fee, good riddance I say. He's useless!

In a word.... YES! He didn't really produce the goods as far as I'm concerned and was probably our weakest signing last season. He had his moments but not too many..... We can do better.

I really hope we dont sell him. Obvioulsy if it is a substantial amount of money then it would be worth while selling but seeing that their first offer was 15k I doubt it will be anything to shout about. I thought that he was good last season, had a dip in form at the same time as th whole team did really and then wasn't introduced to the side again. If you watch highlights on 'World' you will see how involved he was wither starting a play or being penultimate passer. I know that he often ran the ball out of play but alot of the time he would pick it up well inside our half and give the defence some restbite by conceeding a throw-in 50 yards down the pitch. I didn't see 50ks worth of football out of him but he didn't play enough. I wan him to stay and think he will chip in with goals and assists next season.

I didnt think he was that good, but he did get the odd assist. I would give him a chance to see if he improves next season. But if he doesnt he could go in January. I would defintely play him ahead of Davies though. He was a good player at Hull, so perhaps he has been taking a while to settle here. You never know he could be like Drogba - crap first season, but look at him now

He's strong and maybe has an eye for goal but I saw lazy, and not that talented last season. Hopefully he can reinvent himself cos I'm sure he's got something about him.

Again though, it's about if we can get someone better to replace him, as if he went there's no "natural" replacement (you all know Davies is a striker, right?). If we can't get a better replacement, I'd probably keep him.

I dont think Davies is anything!! #-o

Grade A useless is what i would give him
People say that hes played out of position but even in the reserves when he plays as a striker he never scores!!

Curran is much better than Davies any day

Think thats very harsh. The lad has talent and I'm sure next season he'll show it. He has a sweet left foot, bit of skill and pace to got past people, if he works on his final ball and finishing he'll be a very good player.

Is that in the same respect as if Ward worked on his catching and shot-stopping he would be a good keeper?

:lol::lol: Good point. Difference being though that Davo is only 19 and not 37! Give the lad a chance, he's still a kid and developing his game and I think he has good potential. Just my opinion.

I don't know what Chester upped their offer to but i'd imagine it would be between 20-30k. Now personally i'd sell him for that and i have heard a rumour that it has been accepted. Maybe we should make sure we have someone else signed before agreeing to sell him though.

I agree with you SCoopy. I was just being pedantic. He is o.k and a good player to have in the squad at his age. He will also be cheap to run. He is by no means the finished article or even nearly there but his versatility is welcome.

Purely rumour but I heard that Chester bid 50k and there is another party interested. Dont know who they are and this is all probably a rumour sporned by the spark who thought that Fowler was on his way here just before he signed for Liv*rp**l.

I don't understand all the fuss over Ellison. Why would a club spend 50k on him if that's the figure. It's not as if he had an excellent season. I just don't understand all the fuss, although I guess he'd shine a little more in a lower division.

Exactly! I think he is the best that Chester could attract so they need to spend on him because we wont let him go because of the amount we paid for him. If he was on a free I would say that he would be snapped up in this league but if a League One club is looking to spend 50k they could do a whole lot better.

Let's take what we can get for Ellison and run! Not impressed with him at all last season. I speak to several Hull fans through work and I remember when we signed him, they were on the phone laughing their backsides off at me - they were pleased to see the back of him! I will also be glad to see the back of him and wish Chester the best of luck with the signing of our biggest waste of money from last season.
Side note on Davies, he looked ok on the wing when RM started playing him there but seemed to get lazy once his place seemed assured. If you could mould Davies and Ellison into one player you might get a half decent winger. As we can't mould players, I suggest we relieve ourselves of both.
